A battleship grey colour chart so you can choose. It's very important to get it right.

PPS She's allowed to have maroon hair at school but not maroon shoes. Some school rules are bonkers.

PS Minibags has plimsoll thingies the same colour as her hair. Maroon. They look nice.So does her hair.

WHICH battleship grey*? Don't leave it hanging like that! It's doing my head in!

* UK battleship grey is different (darker) than US battleship grey.

Elegran Sun 19-Jul-15 08:01:52

Oh yes, and beige details.

Nelliemoser Sat 18-Jul-15 21:58:39

It has to be good quality now't but the best around here. For a backgtound do we go for Battleship grey?

Elegran Sat 18-Jul-15 16:56:22

Tell us what size of paint brush and whether you plan to do two coats or only one. Also what kind of paint you are using. Some dry a lot faster than others.

Does cheap pound shop paint dry faster or slower than quality brands? Are you allowed to use them, or is Farrow and Ball specified?.

Could we please have the measurements of the wall and whether it is internal or external and the current state of the surface, before committing ourselves gringrin

Nelliemoser Sat 18-Jul-15 14:24:26

That's a good idea. I was thinking of commissioning a Banksy mural but a plimsoll line and some ships would be a lot cheaper.

Jane10 Sat 18-Jul-15 14:11:50

Will you paint a plimsoll line on it?

Nelliemoser Sat 18-Jul-15 14:07:02

I am about to paint a wall. Would you all like to come and see how quickly it will dry. I will take bets on who gets the timing right.

ninathenana Sat 18-Jul-15 13:50:17

You have a point soon my post was a bit tounge in cheek

Elrel Sat 18-Jul-15 13:23:27

glammanana Sat 18-Jul-15 11:50:15

Good leather shoes everytime for school children imo I always saved my childrens family allowance for this purpose I wouldn't dream of sending them in plimsoles didn't the op read all the previous replies on the threads earlier in the year grin

2 or 3 of us have tried/suggested this previously.

But I have learnt in life that it is impossible to do crowd control. Plus some people, as regards this type of thread, enjoy replying. Which is their choice.
Plus in the first instance, it is sometimes not obvious.

ninathenana Sat 18-Jul-15 00:54:11

Can we not have a pact that nobody replies to the next ( there will be one grin) thread on this topic.

HappyNan1 Fri 17-Jul-15 21:49:09

Run grin

soontobe Fri 17-Jul-15 20:21:57

Its plimsoll person!
He/she will be doing a post count I think.

I can never decide whether to join in, or run away!

petra Fri 17-Jul-15 19:43:00

rosesarered Fri 17-Jul-15 19:21:21

These boots are made for walking.

Lona Fri 17-Jul-15 19:20:15

No!! I'm the thread killer!! grin

rosesarered Fri 17-Jul-15 19:19:17

That's what you think!

Juliette Fri 17-Jul-15 19:16:45

The smell in Shoe Zone gives me a headache. I can only enter wearing breathing apparatus.

I am Juliette, this thread will now die. grin

suzied, what the OP seems to be saying is that the school has not changed the uniform, so trainers and plimsolls are still allowed as regular footwear.
