After a bath or shower, do you................. ...

I don't spend very much time in the shower although at this time of year I may have two a day. I towel my hair, put on a bathrobe and then towel all the bits the bathrobe doesn't come into contact with! Bit of talc under my boobs and deodorant and thats me done! DH spends an inordinate length of time in the shower and then an inordinate length of time b*******g about afterwards! Can't be doing with it.

Faffing's good! It's our time for faffing now, didn't have time when children were young and had to get them out of the house to school, didn't have time when I was working before children and again when the youngest went off to school.

I always put body cream on and then foot cream and then do teeth, lots of faffing there floss first then clean them with two different tooth pastes one for sensitivity and further faffing with whitening toothpaste, then make-up with special attention to eyebrows, now that I have more hair there than eye lashes - they get the full treatment - sob I can't believe I had eyelashes like Andy Burnham's once, where did they go . Finally I get dressed and then I suppose I'm faffing ready to face the day!

I could get downstairs earlier if DH didn't hang around so long in the bathroom. He is such a bumbler! I don't have my bath straight out of bed, but I must wash my face and clean my teeth. I can't go in the bathroom while he is still in there because I hate a steamy bathroom. It's all his fault.

The thing is, though, that the thought of having to hurry to get up and going really baffles me now and I'm not sure I could do it!

Lona it used to take me 30 minutes from alarm to out of the house when I was working. Now it's half an hour before I get out of the bedroom. So much to do! Finishing chapter I was reading last night, making and drinking morning tea, checking my mail, looking at GN. I used to think old people took a long time to do things because they were old. Now I know it's because we can!

I usually get up showered and dressed when I get up. I occasionally sit around in my dressing gown in the morning faffing about on the computer.
I get uncomfortable if I lie in bed too long and I can't sit up and read in bed either, so getting up and sitting in a decent chair to have a morning brew is my best option.

I must add I don't own a dressing gown! Once I'm dry I get dressed.

I love a good faff! Been doing it ever since I stopped working. In pyjamas until about 11am, then I shower and dress before faffing with my face and hair.
I have to keep checking Gnet and fb in between more faffing.
I don't faff when I eat though.

Our bathroom is downstairs so I'm a dressing gown faffer.

I bath or shower and then lounge on my bed wrapped in two towels, one wrapped around my torso like a boob tube and the other around my waist. Then I pick up the Kindle and check Gransnet! (usually for about 20 minutes).

If I went downstairs I would end up never getting dressed and would end to up gagging downstairs as well!!

definitely a faffer,do housework in the all together then shower moisturise and faff some more...but does really depend on what I am doing and when I need to be out by..hair is biggest faff blow drying and always iron clothes as I need them by but can be up and out 6.30 am as and when need arises all coiffed and ready for action with face on ..

I faff about in my towelling bathrobe , but only for half an hour or so.
Drying my hair, shaving my legs, etc. etc......

Well Kitty all I can say is it is better than duscussing when you poo. That thread beggared belief

Get up any time around 4.30 am, have long soak in the bath. I dry myself and dress immediately, then do an hour's walk towards my 10,000+ daily steps. I then have the rest of the day to do as I please, including faffing.

Bellanonna Yes. I remember our tin bath in front of the fire on Saturday nights. And stand-up washes at the kitchen sink weekday mornings.

I have spent a good part of the afternoon trying to purchase online an 'apres bain' robe! Filed because they wouldn't take the voucher code they offered me at the start. Grrr! I really wanted that robe. #houseofbath

I initially put my dressing gown on - downstairs and have a coffee and do things such as empty the dishwasher or set it going if it wasn't done the night before. Do all sorts of faffing and eating breakfast - I really should have about six dressing gowns - have shower and get dressed afterwards - either for staying at home for the day or getting ready to go out. I work far quicker first thing in the morning than in the evening

I don't think going on GN is faffing Jane. I consider myself to be multitasking - keeping up with important goings on in the world whilst also getting dry!

Rubbing dry makes me itch, so I have an extra large toweling bath robe that I put on while I wait to dry.

Before I gave up on it I would use that time to apply make up. By the time I had finished I was usually nearly dry.

These days I use the time very productively. I make a mug of coffee and come on here!
