never too old?

most people are saying she's already too old to think about becoming a doctor at forty. makes me want to shout - 'go for it!!!' you never realise how much you regret missed opportunities until they become just that.

Looking back, i wish i hadn't listened to someone who was convinced it was a dangerous idea to change my career when i was at a crossroads. i've never stopped wishing i'd ignored their advice.

I didn't post a link, although I presume whoever wants to be the doctor has actually realised that. She says that money is no problem.

The government wants lots of partly qualified medics to work alongside GPs so that would not take that long to qualify.

Determination and commitment can be one of the assets adults bring to the learning process. I know because I was an adult ed lecturer and saw so many adults achieve qualifications they would never have thought of as immature young people.

However, from what medically qualified family and friends tell me, becoming a qualified doctor is not for the faint hearted. Physically and mentally very demanding.
