Somebody posts about 25 posts in a few pages to my few- and I am supposed to go on until people agree with me? lol- really.

Of course nobody said that- but the last few posts point to that, and I find it seriously worrying. But if you don't, that is fine with me.

Interesting that the people who bang on about how these Muslims should appreciate our democracy and free speech think other countries need a dictator to keep their people in order.

Some of us were just pointing out that removing a dictator has not exactly provided freedom and democracy for the country concerned.

So any form of government is OK for different people jbf- does that include a state based on Sharia law which is I think what IS want?
If you install a dictator and then remove him merlotgran shouldn't you take some responsibility for the aftermath?

Nobody has talked themselves into a corner, what a silly thing to post. I think anyone, not just Muslims, should appreciate democracy. It is especially true when you consider the alternative, eg life under the dictatorship in North Korea or the type of regime existing under Isis.

I think the point being made is quite simple. If anyone doesn't like what this country has to offer then they can stay and try to change things through democratic means, or the can take themselves off somewhere over the rainbow where doubtless the grass is greener.

We can agree about the OP's general opinion re the families of the women and others going to Syria blaming the GVT, etc. I do.

There are many Christian brethrens and groups where the above certainly does apply, forced system, brainwashing to believe non-sense like Creationism, no sex education, no music- and also the wearing of long skirts and sleeves + socks and a scarf (I had several in my last school in the East Mids) and girls having to leave school after GCSE's even if they were really keen to continue their studies, etc. 90% of girls in Eritrea suffer female genital mutiliation, and their are Christians, etc.

And the last sentence is truly objectionable.

Jings. I understand completely where your coming from. I haven't joined in this thread because this subject ( Muslims who disrespect my lovely country) makes me angry beyond words.

Err - I feel I must mention. I have no dislike of any muslims. I don't know many to be honest! Only the ones I see at various fetes and the like, selling delicious Indian finger foods.

To be honest again though, I find the religion a little bit creepy. All that talk of virgins awaiting the pleasures of the suicide bombers and suchlike. And the segregation of the women in the mosques. And the covering of the hair.

And if anyone wants to come down on me for that, sod off in advance.

Orthodox Jews segregate women in the synagogue, and a married woman is supposed to wear a wig so that only her husband sees her hair jbf. Is that creepy? (No need to answer I am s.o.i.a.)

But these things have nothing to do with Islam- but are added on by the narrow Muslim group you've come across. If my Muslim cousins met Hamish in Pennsylvania, or Plymouth brethren in the UK, would they come to the conclusion that this is what Christians are like? An 11 year old and a 13 year old Jehovah's witness knocked at my door to try and convince me I should read their little magazine to safe the world- and I never thought for a moment they are representative of Christians either (I was lovely to them- and told them I really admired their courage to go knocking on doors like this).

Religious practices are interesting and equally it is sad that the differences lead to, in some religions, fear and hatred.

and only certain groups of Muslims wear a scarf, most do not, a few from specifi groups wear hijab, and fewer the burka. There is as much 'variety' in Islam as there is in Christianity- and most of the things that showck and surprise us are hadiths (later add-ons) or total and absolute distortion or irrelevant to the Koran.
