I love! D.I.Y my dad used to work away a lot so I ended dup doing the bits n pieces, I would rummaging to see what tools he had and what they were for, and even now if I go in a store I head to the gadget tool department, I like to have the right tool for the right job (I don't ! but I would like to)!
I have built stone fireplaces in our old home with stone just found in the fields at the back of the house (used to trudge with the wheelbarrow at all hours of the day )
laid concrete/flags/patios/built small walls.
Leaded all the windows in our old house.
put plate racks n beams up.
sheds/changed head gaskets/oil change on the older cars.
lost count of how many flat packs Iv'e gone n built for friend as they hated doing them (even the men)
hired scaffolding just over a year ago and climbed up to paint all the rendering on our mews house, had to climb up two sets of ladders (the neighbours think I'm am not full shilling lol)
underdrawn a staircase.etc etc
biggest project was about 9 yrs ago, we (yes that's we) built a conservatory from a kit form B n Q dh was the brains, he sat and read the instructions and held things !
I have just decorated neighbours kitchen and will be doing their lounge soon, that's in between doing my own, I also like house work
