Good to hear from you Glamma. I can appreciated some of the pain you are going through, and a friend of ours just recently had a similar fall and was surprised at how long she had to wait, until she was told that they like to make sure about what is broken and where, after that she had excellent treatment, and is now having physio, so I hope you will be the same.

I don't suppose you're allowed one of these wine glamma but it's the thought that counts grin

Get well soon XX

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and even speedier relief from pain.

Sorry you're in pain, glamma. I hope they sort it out for you and you're soon on the mend flowers

AshTree Mon 08-Jun-15 18:37:56

Oh you poor thing. Nine days is much too long to wait when you're in so much pain. Only two more days now though, really hope they give you some decent pain relief. Good luck flowers

TriciaF Mon 08-Jun-15 17:53:47

Poor you! If it is a fracture, hopefully the pain will subside once it's set.
I had no bruising with my shoulder injury. otoh when I fell on my hip I had a bruise for about a month.
You can't tell until after the xray.
bon courage!

Judthepud2 Mon 08-Jun-15 17:24:52

shock Glamma. That sounds really awful. Far too long to wait to be seen IMO. Hope you get better pain relief on Wednesday. I agree......don't be a hero. Tell it like it is!

Mishap Mon 08-Jun-15 17:11:12

You poor thing! I really do think that 9 days wait for the fracture clinic is not good enough!

When I was 19 I broke my right humerus into lots of little bits just above the elbow - I cannot even begin to tell you how painful it was! The surgeon said that I would never be able to use my arm again because of the nerve and blood vessel damage - I could not feel or move my fingers. But.......when I came round from the op he said he had managed to piece it all together and wire the bits in and he thought the nerve damage might heal - and it did! I am so grateful to that surgeon!

So - I do have some idea how it feels and send you all my good wishes for some better pain relief and a speedy recovery. It is so frustrating being encumbered with a plaster and in pain.

glam so sorry to hear that you are suffering so much pain, I hope you can get some relief on Wednesday.

janeainsworth Mon 08-Jun-15 17:05:52

Good to see you Glamma - I'm sorry you're in so much pain and I hope they can give you something effective at the fracture clinic x

hildajenniJ Mon 08-Jun-15 17:01:44

Silly me brew.

hildajenniJ Mon 08-Jun-15 17:01:02

Huge sympathies glamma. I broke my forearm a few years ago, and had to have surgery and external fixaters. The pain was awful and comfortable sleep almost impossible. I cannot imagine what breaking your upper arm must be like! Loads of [cuppa] and sympathy from me. (H).xx

annodomini Mon 08-Jun-15 16:57:51

So sorry to hear that you are still in so much pain. Surely the fracture clinic could have seen you sooner. Anyway, when you do see a doctor, don't minimise the pain you're feeling or the lack of sleep which must be dragging you down. (((gentle hugs)))

Teetime Mon 08-Jun-15 16:44:18

ooh glamma poor you-I hope you get some relief on Wednesday flowers

loopylou Mon 08-Jun-15 16:41:29

That's really bad, you being in so much pain, definitely tell them at the Fracture clinic. Wishing you a speedy recovery glammanana flowers x

Charleygirl Mon 08-Jun-15 16:38:03

Sorry to hear that the pain relief has not touched the spot. Please make your feelings clear on Wednesday because in this day and age you should not be in agony. Good luck flowers

Grannyknot Mon 08-Jun-15 16:30:41

glammanana that sounds very sore! Hope you get sorted on Wednesday flowers

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 08-Jun-15 16:24:38

Oh dear. sad Poor Glamma. [wrings hands in despair] sad

Marelli Mon 08-Jun-15 16:11:24

glammanana, hopefully you'll be prescribed something a bit stronger for your pain when you go to the fracture clinic? You must be exhausted, having had hardly any sleep, and that won't be helping, either.
Good to see you back on here again, though - even if it's only one (clumsy!) finger typing! Take care of yourself. flowers

glammanana Mon 08-Jun-15 16:04:31
