The murders on the news are just round the corner almost.

On top of everything else, I am feeling isolated here.
I had my grandson visiting yesterday afternoon but there were police helicopters overhead until late in the evening....kept all doors bolted.

Then I have to wake at 4.30.

I could really do without the details and the horrible pictures!

Yes the press have printed details of his life and even believing half of them he had a sad and disturbed life which affected him. This does not excuse in any way the actions he took but goes someway to explaining his state of mind. I did think some of the posts yesterday were lacking in compassion for all the people concerned, but perhaps that wasn't the actual point.

It is hard to imagine the pain and distress which compelled this young man to such desperate actions, but no doubt the press will furnish us with a detailed account whether we want it or not. But the little girl, an innocent victim - a total family tragedy sad

What a terrible story this is. How can anyone stab and murder a lovely six year old girl, and two adults. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for the family, and how their last minutes were spent. I am glad that the body of the young man involved has been found, and wonder what his state of mind was. As I said so much sadness here.

Jane10 Mon 25-May-15 18:23:34

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 18:23:16

It's all over now....good.
Very sad.

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 18:21:37

On BBC online, but not on Sky news there yet!

KatyK Mon 25-May-15 18:12:17

Assuming they have got it right, Sky News are reporting that the police have found his body. As I say, assuming they have the correct info.

They have been looking for him in the University Parks area in Oxford where he used t work. It's possible that he has contacts in Oxford and has persuaded/coerced someone to shelter him.

kittylester Mon 25-May-15 16:49:19

They don't think he's armed Alie, so that's one thing less to worry about!

FarNorth Mon 25-May-15 16:32:02

I expect he's miles from you, Alie, as he's been seen in Oxford. The grass will still be there to be mown another day, just concentrate on helping yourself feel safe. (( hugs ))

KatyK Mon 25-May-15 16:08:17

I hope they catch him soon Alie. I agree with roses that it was a domestic murder but can perfectly understand how you feel.

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 15:57:56

I hope so. But the police helicopter is still around here, twice.

KatyK Mon 25-May-15 15:43:15

Yes they have CCTV of him in W H Smith at Oxford station. We were there a couple of days ago. I would imagine he has got on a train and is out of the area.

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 14:42:31

I now gather they think he went to Oxford? i hadn't seen that.

rosesarered Mon 25-May-15 14:37:38

Alie, it's ok. He won't be anywhere local to you, as he has been seen elsewhere. It was a totally domestic murder, and a really sad case.Though I understand why you will be feeling vulnerable at the moment.I think the police will be arresting him very soon.

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 13:41:26

I wanted to mow grass but I am being paranoid about being outside just now....
I am going to have a rest for a while upstairs.

AlieOxon Mon 25-May-15 11:29:04

No, they didn't think I was a nuisance.
I gather that probably many others are doing the same thing.....no promises, just an unemotional taking down of facts. But you never know.
