"pompa Us lot will miss your lively banter" You don't get off that easily, we will have internet access
Live over 225 miles away from family
Here we are again...I hope that the kitcheners can find their way without too much hassle.
"pompa Us lot will miss your lively banter" You don't get off that easily, we will have internet access
Oh janer I can picture you and your friend sitting beneath the pergola, sipping tea from dainty china cups and scoffing daintily nibbling on a home-baked scone topped with a thick layer of clotted cream and jam. You tyke! I want to join you. Were you wearing a pretty straw sun hat? My idea of ladylikeness... and did you have a wee posy of spring flowers in a sweet little jug in the middle of the table...not forgetting real napkins. Now look what you've made me do. I'm all envious and hungry with it.
Home-made gluten-free scones today, soop. With home-made strawberry jam, and cream. A friend came round for tea and to take some plants, so we ate them outside under the pergola on my pretty little wrought-iron table using floral china and pretended to be lady-like. I always feel as if I'm in a play when I get the pretty china and pretty tray out.
AlieO I would rather not be responsible for making you cry. Thank goodness common sense prevailed. I doff my cap to the kindly funeral director. I was thinking of you throughout yesterday.
Bella never leaves my thoughts. I take her everywhere with me.
pompa Us lot will miss your lively banter. Safe travels and behave enjoy yourself.
Galen will you put a photo in the album when the crochet rainbow cardigan if finished? We'd love to see it.
janer bake a few extra delicious biscuits for the Kitcheners please. With the wedding edging perilously closer...make sure that they are calorie-free.
Have been to the care home. Sat and chortled with the usual four lovely ladies. We do talk about the same things (that matter to them) every time I visit. And yet, for them, it all seems so fresh. I love them to bits.
Oh, the poor man.
Thank you kitty. I did on the fourth call get to the actual funeral director who was much more sympathetic, and arranged to move her car to let me park there (they have very little space!).
The meeting was quite fraught with different views but I think we have come to a compromise although I am not happy with it.....and sitting for two hours on their chair made me wake up at 1.30 this morning with severe cramp!
soop the Edwin Muir poem made me cry - it is so much where Jayne's partner was - before she died......
That wouldn't be Goscote garden centre by any chance ?
Have a good trip pompa, and try not to get wet but do try to get a curry. I've told that very nice garden centre that they have had enough money out of this Gransnetter and to not allow you to enter the premises.
Thinking about Bella, Alie and everyone else struggling at this time. We are with you in spirit and holding your hands.
Shoul add nd circumstance to pompa be no problem then
Well that's better than Pimp's got called earlier.
I don't think my tablet likes your name pompa!
Enjoy your trip Pomp's
Good morning Kitcheners. Coffee pot on.
My thought are with you all this morning, we must all try to make the best of what life throws at us. My thoughts especially go out to our Bell and her family.
Heading off to Leicester and then S. Wales for a couple of weeks, trying to get the garden up to date. So please that I got the all clear re. lungs before we went, can enjoy it now.
All my thoughts are with you Bella, so pleased that you have your hubby home, where he belongs.
I'm trying to crochet a rainbow cardigan for dgc1. It means a lot of counting. I feel like that new music thing that counts rather than words, I rather like it but no idea where to find it, or what it's called
Mine came today too Brenda - brilliant, I am wearing it! The straps are fantastically comfortable.
Bella I am so pleased he can be at home, and that you feel able to care for him. I expect things are feeling a little surreal for you at the moment.
I have just disposed of my knitting class, having stuffed them full of homemade biscuits. I actually made them for DBH as he is at home next week, but they smelt too good to resist. We allowed him a few scraps. Back to the cooker tomorrow then!
Bella you know my thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Bella it is good your DH is home where you can be with him and he can know that you are close by. I can't imagine how hard this must be for you, we are all thinking of you.
I shall wish you all a peaceful evening. When we return tomorrow having visited the care home, I shall be with you again.
I don't know which thread it was on but I followed advice on Gransnet about front closing bras and mine came in the post yesterday. Wonderful value wonderfully comfortable. Thanks for the tip whoever it was.
Bella, I'm so glad that you have been able to have your husband home with you.
AlieO surely there must be facilities so that less able or distressed people don't have to walk far. I think I'd be inclined to park inside the gates and say you couldn't possibly walk further. Having just seen the time, I've realised that you have probably left anyway if so, I hope things weren't too difficult for you.
Galen and soop, I'd not heard either of your poems before. Both were beautiful though I found the Browning left me a little sad, but not in a bad way. Thank you both.
Bella, Alie & Galen ((hugs)) to you all. I hope your families are all giving you lots of support.
Bella, pleased that you have your DH at home, if I were in his place, that's exactly where I would want to be, with my loved ones.
Think of you all. love Pompa.
Bellasnana There really is no place like home and no people more precious than family and friends.
and peace of mind. x
AlieO Surely the person with whom you're to have the meeting knows of a suitable place to park your car. Why on earth should you need to talk to some bod in Portsmouth...it just doesn't make sense. This problem is adding to your stress. I wish that I could help. Do we have a Gransnetter living in the area?
Thank you Galen...the poem is new to me.
Here is a poem that I can relate to. A few years ago, I copied it out and enclosed it in a Valentine's card to MacS
The Confirmation...Edwin Muir
Yes, yours, my love, is the right human face.
I in my mind had waited for this long,
Seeing the false and searching for the true,
Then found you as a traveller finds a place
Of welcome suddenly amid the wrong
Valleys and rocks and twisting roads. But you,
What shall I call you? A fountain in a waste,
A well of water in a country dry,
Or anything that's honest and good, an eye
That makes the whole world bright. Your open heart,
Simple with giving, gives the primal deed,
The first good world, the blossom, the blowing seed,
The hearth, the steadfast land, the wandering sea,
Not beautiful or rare in every part,
But like yourself, as they were meant to be.
Bellasnana I am so glad that your DH is at home with you all, surrounded by love.
