Hope the shoulder sorts itself out soop and doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the wedding. Does this mean there will be another GN in Leicestershire?

soop, I sympathise with you - shoulders make life so difficult when they play up. Don't lift anything! If it's your ironing arm, I suspect you've been overdoing it. Take care and don't stint on the and/or painkillers.

kitty we'll be in Rutland. A particularly picturesque county. The Leicestershire clan will join us. Lots of folk coming from all points of the compass. I just wish to goodness that Rory needn't be put out...which, of course, he will. Good pals will be visiting regularly to wait upon his every whim. Thing is...he will miss MacS very much. Hey ho! As bags is known to murmur...needs must.

anno...not my ironing arm. I find it very tricky putting my hair up. However, for a treat I shall have a salon hair-do tomorrow. Guess what - a frisky westerly wind is forecast.

pompa dear, keep strong. When you return home you'll look back with a glad heart...can't vouch for your mind, mind.

Soutra You jest. I may manage a sedate waltz with MacS. Rock 'n' Roll years are sadly a thing of the past.

Packing is almost done. Rory knows that something is in the air. He refuses to settle down on either his feather cushion/chaise/recliner chair/tartan rug. He's wearing a grumpy face.

soop I have my first appointment today with a sports physio as thankfully there is no need for surgery. My GP prescribed dyhdrocodeine which is keeping all pain at bay whilst I get started with physio. Works a treat and completely pain free thanks to the meds. Would you have time to get a script for this from your GP before you go.

Do enjoy the wedding, it sounds like it will be a great get together.

I'm trying to find out how much extra it would be for Bella to come with me. As we start from Civitavecchia I wouldn't think the flight would be very dear. We are supposed to go to Sicily, Malta, Athens, kusadasi, and Istanbul.
Heraklion, Mykonos, Naples and santorini.

Agus I take dihydrocodeine and amitriptyline for scoliosis and fibromyalgia. It would be possible to take an extra dose of either (I try to manage on a lesser dose than prescribed) but I do not like the after-effects. I'm sure that once we are in the midst of the celebrations, the shoulder pain can be managed, thanks to a glass or two of bubbly.

Galen I have been to Santorini...the island of butterflies. Taken there on a fisherman's boat from a location in Crete. Long time ago. Such a beautiful, atmospheric location. Haven't visited the other exotic places you mention.

We need to pop into Campbeltown. The wipers on the car have been driving us potty. They have a tendency to scrape every now and then. As we'll be in the car for a lengthy journey, best to get matters sorted before we leave.

The weather here is greyish. The wind remains chilly. Never mind, I'm certain that the sun will break through at some time.

soop it sounds as though Rory should be coming here for his summer break. He would not have to slum it on a cat bed although there are two redundant ones here. He would have a choice of bedrooms but I doubt if Tara would allow him entrance into hers! He could choose which chair or sofa he wanted to lounge on and a mere whimper would get the resident serf to open the French doors to the garden and he could lie on a garden chair, in the sun or shade, his choice. What a pity that there is such a distance- he would be so well cared for.

A glass or two of bubbly should do the trick then soop . Have a fab time

Wipers had not arrived at garage. We shall have to put up with the occasional squeak.

I`m so sorry Kitty, I thought I`d posted and I hadn`t, the engineer came at 11am yesterday to fix the chair lift, so last night I was happily able to go to bed, I didn`t sleep at all the night before.

I've just had to laugh. Gary filled up the mealworm feeder on Monday but the robin has been very busy on it. Today I've had two greattit chicks plus their frantic parents raiding it as well as the robins! Guess what? It's empty!
The robins now keep on flying to it, finding it empty they hop onto the window ledge and glare at me accusingly.
I'm being bullied by robins!
They'll have to wait until Friday when Gary comes again I'm afraid!

How lovely to be able to watch them, we haven't had any nesting birds this year. The woods behind us were thinned out and now we only seem to have magpies and jackdaws, starlings and crows
They all simply scoff everything in minutes so I've rearranged the feeders in the hope that the blue tits and sparrows will get a look in.
The sparrow-hawk doesn't help things either......

I put meal worms out for the robins, they don't stand a chance the starlings clear them within minutes of outing them out. I will have to think up a starling proof feeder when we get back home.

Don't put out fat or suet balls pompa!
The starlings demolished a 500gms one in 10 minutes.....and cr....d ll over my drying washing

Galen what a wonderful idea, I wish I was coming!

We have a bedroom full of bees and I am scared to go to bed. They are coming down through the light fittings and I have been stung, on my side as I was brushing my hair this morning. I looked down to see the floor covered in bees. Not pleasant. We were out all day today, so I pulled down the blinds and shut the door, so as not to encourage them to follow the light, but as we have returned to half a dozen in the sitting-room I fear they have found another way through the floors and walls.

I love bees, we are about to plant up a new bee garden, but this is perhaps just a few too many.

That's rather scary janer, to put it mildly.

Do you know your local Beekeeper Association-they can come out and take the swarm for you. Might be worth looking them up?

When one of us has plucked up courage to go upstairs to suss out the situation, we will have a think about it. Neither of us want to go into the loft, although I don't think we will be able to see anything as they must be behind the central chimney breast which is huge. I think maybe we will sleep downstairs on the sofabed tonight and review the situation in the morning - but yes, we will ring round tomorrow and see if someone will come out.

We stocked up on bee sting spray on our way home!

When my neighbours had a swarm in their attic/loft conversion bedroom the bees moved on after a few days so fingers crossed.

We had a swarm in our bedroom chimney a few years ago. The fireplace is blocked off but quite a few fot into the bedroom under the skirting boards. We stuffed newspapers in thr gaps and opened the window. A neighbour who kept bees came and had a look. he said there was nothing to be done as they were inaccessible. He also said they would settle down in their new home, our chimney, and cease to be a bother. That happened as he said and they quietened down at night.

Then, much later, during a winter night, I heard a big kerflump from the chimney and lresumed the hive had come unstuck. Some time later I found honey on top of the stove that's in the living-room fireplaced irectly below. It must have dripped down from the bedroom fireplace. We just collected it in a bowl and said hey ho.

If anyone ever takes the plasterboard off our bedroom wall they'll find dead bees and sooty honey.

And then there are the bats in other walls....

If they are a swarm of honey bees perhaps a beekeeper could come and entice them away.

If they are bumble bees they will go in a couple of months; not very pleasant if they are getting in the house though - can you find out where they are getting in to come down the light fittings? Have they taken up residence in the attic?
We had nesting bumble bees last year in the eaves/attic/cavity wall near the bathroom window and had to keep that window shut in the warm weather. I could hear them buzzing around as I sat on the loo was in the bathroom.

The bats wouldn`t bother me, but any insects or creepy crawlies would send me running for the hills!
