Transporting all those teeth to build their fairy castles
Cookery books and other books - are you keeping them ?
Bonnie Blue the MSM should stop all reporting.
What has survived in your garden with minimal or no watering?
Here we are again...I hope that the kitcheners can find their way without too much hassle.
Transporting all those teeth to build their fairy castles
I never considered what they'd do with all those teeth!
Ivory towers presumably! gappy
If you read the Hogfather by Terry Pratchett you will find everything about the tooth fairy.
Loved the film.
I've been busy assembling a Virgin Island rum ginger pineapple chicken casserole to feed my gardner and cleaner for lunch tomorrow!
Lucy seems to be feeling better having come off the lamatrogine.
Bella and self are in PM contact. Hope we might meet up this year, and definitely next June when I cruise to Malta.
pompa He is a very handsome boy.
My hair used to be that colour
Pompa he is lovely, beautiful hair.
Lona, same colour as my Mum's hair. Sadly I missed out.
He's beautiful!
Golly Galen, I'll come and do your garden too!
What a relief Lucy's feeling brighter, so scary for her and you.
Lovely to know you and Bella will meet again
Galen I do hope that you feel a bit more cheerful today, it's good that Lucy is better too
Bella Stay strong ((((hugs))))
We visited some friends yesterday that seem to be bearing the troubles of the world. But the reality was that they had nothing to moan about, just seemed to be so negative about everything when they were far better off than most in every way (except being content). We realise that we are quite contented with our life, so have reasons to be cheerful.
Off to see GC in Leicester very shortly.
Hello all. Just putting a big chocolate fudge cake on the table so help yourselves (quick before pompa gets it all). I promised to save a slice for Alie if she pops in.
Good to hear that Lucy is feeling better Galen also that you are in touch with Bella. I'm sure that it will help talking to someone who knows what she is going through
for you both.
Bella. (((Hugs)))
Good to hear you will be meeting up with Galen
Galen A relief for you and Lucy coming off meds which had such an adverse affect. Pleased to hear she is feeling a bit better and I hope she can now go from strength to strength.
Count me in for lunch too please. Sounds delish.
Lucy is now going mad at her local MH team and blaming them for all her ills. Her sister says she can't take any more and has unsubscribe from her newsfeed. I feel I can't take much more either.
Good morning to my lovely Granspals. I was too sad to be of good company to you lot yesterday. I've missed you.
Bella xxx
pompa Your grandson is gorgeous. The eyes, the smile, the hair...wow! He is indeed very handsome. How come we have no photo of you to drool over?
Talking of folk who love to complain...their unreal expectations must be to blame for their apparent dissatisfaction. Both MacS and I are totally content with "our lot" in life. Many would describe our lives as being extraordinarily "boring"...well. so be it. We are grateful to be able to enjoy and share commonplace, simple everyday pleasures. As it's Bank Holiday Monday, we shall celebrate with a wee dram tonight. Looking forward to it.
Galen I was thinking that Lucy was beginning to feel so much better since coming off the medication. What happened? Is she now taking something equally troublesome? My heart goes out to you.
Teeth! My first tooth was dropped down a drain (accidently) as I ran to my Nana's house. I arrived in tears and spluttered that I had hoped to give her my tooth. She hugged me and gave me a shiny new sixpence (in old money) which seemed like a fortune at that time. I cannot recall being given anything for the rest of the teeth that subsequently came out.
A poem...
What It Is...Erich Fried (translated by Stuart Hood)
It is madness
says reason
It is what it is
says love
It is unhappiness
says caution
It is nothing but pain
says fear
It has no future
says insight
It is what it is
says love
It is ridiculous
says pride
It is foolish
says caution
It is impossible
says experience
It is what it is
says love
Here's a really sad quote
'Every love story ends in tragedy....'
(No idea who said it. Just some depression coming out...)
Sorry about that folks.
I would like that chocolate fudge cake if no-one has eaten it. and some
please!
Trying to keep myself organised, I have washed up and put a new fuse in my sewing machine plug, so I can mend my pyjama trousers.
I really want to mow a bit more grass but it is difficult being outside just now. I've got very bored with Monkeyworld episodes as I seem to have seen them all!
How sad Bella my thoughts are with you.
And another...very much tongue in cheek. Share with pompa
Being Boring...'May you live in interesting times.' Chinese curse.
Wendy Cope
If you ask me 'What's new?, I have nothing to say
Except that the garden is growing.
I had a slight cold but it's better today.
I'm content with the way things are going.
Yes, he is the same as he usually is,
Still eating and sleeping and snoring.
I get on with my work. He gets on with his.
I know this is all very boring.
There was drama enough in my turbulent past:
Tears and passion - I've used up a tankful.
No news is good news, and long may it last,
If nothing much happens, I'm thankful.
A happier cabbage you never did see,
My vegetable spirits are soaring.
If you're after excitement, steer well clear of me.
I want to go on being boring.
I don't go to parties. Well, what are they for,
If you don't need to find a new lover?
You drink and you listen and drink a bit more
And you take the next day to recover.
Someone to stay home with was all my desire
And, now that I've found a safe mooring,
I've just one ambition in life: I aspire
To go on and on being boring.
AlieO Is the sun shining? If so, a little mowing of your lawn may well lift your spirits. You are very much in my thoughts.
MacS tells me that there is tennis to watch. I shall therefore knuckle down to the ironing and hope to see an exciting match.
soop I love that 'boring' poem, it says exactly what I feel even though I'm home alone!
I enjoyed the first poem soop and then read and enjoyed even more the Wendy Cope.
pompa's grandson is gorgeous. Beautiful eyes and hair.
So many sad posts. I won't add my own just now.
Galen, I haven't read your earlier posts but sad to read about recent anniversary. Your Lucy sounds like a very brave and strong person. Maybe current reaction is due to coming off meds? Hope her anger subsides soon. X
I think I need a it of cake, that is if it hasn't all gone. I had to read aloud at my portuguese lesson earlier and I feel exhausted. Isn't it silly to still be nervous of reading aloud at my ripe old age? It was portuguese politics!
Bella (((hugs)))
and (((hugs))) for you too Alie the best place for you today is in the kitchen eating cake.
I enjoyed your poems soop the Wendy Cope one sums up a contented life I think.
Galen DD1 doesn't want anything to do with DS for her own very good reasons. The trouble is however old your children are you still want them to play nicely together and love each other.
Arrived at DD's, chaos already.
Soop. pic as requested, now you will see why I didn't put one on here earlier (I'm the one in the hat)
