I'm beginning to understand why my grandmother was so determined to do certain things, she knew that it may be one of the last times she did so. She hauled my grandfather off on a round the world cruise, saying it was a 'once in a lifetime experience' - then made him do it again a few years later! I've always had certain places I love, and want to revisit, and have started to be the same way. Along with friends I rarely get to see, especially since so many of them seem to be dying off lately. Alongside that, I want to try out new things. I haul DBH off to try out new ethnic restaurants, make him walk around cities exploring back streets. Go to art galleries and museums. It's a wonderful world still, despite all that goes on in it. I wish my arthritis didn't inhibit me so much - I can't see me ever going down another zip wire, and I do love that. Getting in and out of small boats is another problem - I have always loved being on water. But I can still go on boat trips on the Broads. There are lots of simple pleasures still to be had, and exhilaration still felt at times!
