When I was working I was a first aider, A fellow first aider came to me, looking VERY flustered. A rather good looking (bloody gorgeous really) had fallen off her motor bike in the car park and cut the top of her leg. She asked him to clean and dress it, guess what, off came the jeans and NO knickers, lucky bugger, why didn't I get that one.

My wife #2 was a dancer, and while working at one of London's West End night-clubs - a proper one, not a mere discotheque - the girls used to make their own G-strings, worn under their costumes - not that they wore very much in the way of a costume.

For some reason, the Memsahib was deputed to handle the final stage of the manufacture, and so our bathroom was festooned with this 'intimate apparel' as it all dried after having been dyed with tea or coffee to a perfect flesh tint!

Just a memory...

Can you not dye them?

There are lots of places you can donate your old bras to, no matter what condition they are in. I think some are recycled and a donation given to breast cancer research and some and taken to countries where some women can't afford to buy them. My sister works for the NHS and every now and again they have a 'donate your old bra' day.

I always do things on a white wash, white things that is! they stay fine that way, but you can buy a powder to make whites even whiter.Ariel Actilift is what I use as my washing power for white stuff.

I love white undies, white and lacy.

The bra fabric itself can still be recycled I think. I also use those little nylon bags so the bras don't get too damaged.

I have very white undies only because all the whites are wash in the machine on their own.

Has anyone tried a spoonful of Napisan in with their white wash? Some time ago, quite a long time actually, I asked a lady in one of our local shops, how she kept her whites so beautifully , well white! She said that she used the Napisan treatment, so I tried it and it does seem to work. I had to search for it though, as it was in the aisle of baby needs.

Was the lady doing her shopping in her underwear, Auntiflo?

Um, sorry, didn't make myself clear ??. She was wearing a very pretty, crocheted cardi, that was sooooo white, and she was in her own little shop that sells lovely, covetable ? things, that I absolutely don't need, but hanker after sometimes.
