Soop tell MacSporran he can stop worrying about Sox. He's reunited with his family and his brother and doing well.

Better news numberplease but it must be very frustrating for him not being able to talk. And very hard on you too.

It's always a good sign when they start to get stroppy! Even if sometimes nearest and dearest, i.e.long-suffering wife, often gets the worst of it. Best wishes to him!

He`s not doing too badly thank you Soutra. He still can`t talk because of the tube in his throat, but has been up and sitting in his chair for about 3 hours each day this week. Got a bit stroppy with the nurse this afternoon. He was trying to suction the excess saliva from his mouth, it has to be done several times a day, but he doesn`t like it, today he was shaking his head and pushing his hand away. The nurse left it, but it would have to be done sooner or later. They`re brilliant, the staff in ICU.

Soop, you made me go looking at 3 old Sunday school prize books that 2 elderly aunts, who weren`t aunts really, gave me many years ago. To my amazement, they`re dated 1911, and are in really great condition, apart from one page that one of our kids crayoned on when I wasn`t looking. They`re very moralistic and religion based books, but one of my daughter`s friends thought it was hilarious when she read out loud "Oh Wilfred, you are a brick!" Haven`t heard that expression in many a year!

We were quite happy with sex-stereotyping in those days, weren't we? But we didn't "do pink "!

Soutra went looking for the annual. The oldest book on the shelf is A Child's History of England by Charles Dickens (an 8th birthday gift to MacS's uncle) February 1912. The Handy Boy's Book (awarded to *MacS's father) June 1927. I found The Boys'and Girls' Cinema Clubs Annual 1950 and Ian Allan Trains Annual also 1950. The Topper Book 1983. I was sure that we had either a Beano or Dandy annual. Unable to locate it at the mo'
I have kept all of my son's childhood books. To date, Torben has a number in his personal library.

That Beano or Dandy annual could be worth a bit ere long, soop!

This nk we can name it soop - I have on another thread and I'm still here! Thing is, I can't remember properly! The one I use is something like Colgate pro relief. Hope that the one you use!!

kitty Does the toothpaste begin with C ? If so, it's miraculous. I honestly though that I was going to have extractions and wear a partial denture. No way! I'm back to "normal"...

Not sure about the sunny smile soop! I meant to say that they get into our bad and want to watch CBeebies rather than the news! That's what gets me out of bed!!

I use a similar toothpaste for my sensitive gum areas (and to clean my teeth!!) and it is magic, isn't it!

Also, for any one of our Kitcheners who, like me, has a very nasty bout of toothache, I can HIGHLY recommend a certain toothpaste. The pain was severe and on-going for a few days. I did as the dentist suggested and to my delight, I'm now completely pain free. In fact, Tonight I shall enjoy my usual G&T with ice. Haven't dared do so for ages.

The snow plough is parked in the nearby layby. The islands are covered in snow. We've had a few light flurries so far, nothing settling. Mind you, the sky has changed from a very bright blue to an ominous lead grey.

Soutra I've a very ancient Beano (could be Dandy) annual. I shall retrieve it from the top shelf of the bookcase. Anything more I can do...you only have to say.

Soutra I got some Poxclin mousse this morning, and the chemist told me that people were always going back to say how good it is!
The spots are few at the moment but I think there'll be a lot more tomorrow. Dgd giggled like mad when I applied the mousse, she thinks it's magic
