Ahh! At long last I'm able to catch up with some of my most favourite people in the whole wide world.

I THANK each and every one of you for your individual very kind good wishes to MacSporran. I always pass on your remarks. He always blushes. And yes, we did enjoy a very fine wee dram in celebration to the latest up-beat hospital visit.

Bella our darling girl, thank goodness that you've popped in to tell us lot what's happening in your life. We do worry when there is a long time between messages. As you say...the one thing that you would have been very happy to have happen is sadly tainted. I understand how you must be feeling. All that we parents can do is hope that something positive can be salvaged if and when an offspring separates from a partner. It is a painful time for all concerned. Your sister-in-law is suffering so much and that too will be constantly on your mind. Us lot send you our love. Best wishes to dear Mr Bella As for your dog...

Agus I had no idea that your husband has had such scares recently. You must have been terribly worried about him. Although I'm late in sending you both my best wishes...I shall do so right this minute.

I'm on here procrastinating. I have put away all the shopping and had lunch, now I don't want to get up but a huge pile of washing needs sorting and putting away too. I probably need another much stronger coffee.

Hello, pals. Sorry I haven't been into this lovely new extension of soop's kitchen for a while, although I have popped in and out to read what you are all up to.

Very glad to hear the trip to Oban yielded good news for MacS. You both must be very relieved, as are all your granspals

My dearly loved sister-in-law has been in hospital these past two weeks so we have been visiting daily. She is looking very ill indeed but still thinks she will go home and get better She cannot walk, barely eats and I guess it is just a matter of time now. So sad, especially for DH who lost his elder sister just four months ago.

When I joined Gransnet, the thread that caught my eye was the 'long distance grannies' one. It was so good to find I wasn't alone in having my only gc in the States. Well, they say you should be careful what you wish for. I am to be a long distance nana no more. DD2 has left her lovely husband and is coming back to Malta to live. They should have arrived today, but missed their connecting flight in NY, so it will be tomorrow before they arrive. I feel very heartbroken about the whole thing, but obviously, I shall love having DGD here.

I've rather rambled on but indulge me a little more while I relate a tale which I hope will make you

Last night I was rudely awakened at 3.15 am by the sound of very loud talking/shouting. Wondered if it could be DD3 on the phone or Skype with someone, but eventually decided I must go and investigate. Went downstairs to find the dog, fast asleep on the sofa, with the TV remote underneath him.
Yep, he had turned the Telly on at full blast

DH is doing ok for now. He has his CT scan on Saturday so fingers crossed for good news. We are booked to go to UK next month for my dear sister's 70th so will be extremely disappointed if we have to cancel.

I have lost my voice today so it is nice to be able to 'talk' to you all whilst resting my vocal cords

NH are horrid for lots of people aren't they. Luckily, it all washes over Mum's head nowadays and if it doesn't - she yells at people.

Thrilled to doll rags to hear that the news from the hospital was good! You both deserved that soppy hug. Hopefully your friend will be able to access the phone more often now to keep in touch with his wife.

Wonderful news re MacSporran remaining stable and no cause for concern are music to the ears and not a lot beats that soppy cuddle outside the hospital when positive news is received.

DH has had a couple of health scares recently but all is well now thankfully. It transpired that his BP meds were causing havoc and causing severe dizzy spells. He was admitted to,hospital twice a fortnight ago. The first episode was when I found him collapsed on the bedroom floor. A frightening experience for both of us and caused due to being given too high a dosage of one lot of meds, the second, the new meds had a dreadful adverse affect on him. An awful time but it's over so, onwards and upwards yet again.

Definate thumbs up for EE-USK from us. Our favourite restaurant in Oban. The freshest fish straight from the sea.....delicious.

I'm sorry to hear how lonely your friend is in the care home. During my training we were seconded to a geriatric unit for 6 weeks and the worst case I found so difficult to accept was a couple who were admitted on the same day. They were separated upon admission, the lady to the female unit and her husband to the male unit. Truly heartbreaking.

So pleased that the news of your DH is so reassuring for you both. With reference to your dear friend I 'm sorry to say Nursing homes can be such depressing places. Yesterday I went to the first session of a 5 week course on Understanding Dementia. Some things we were told about how some are treated and how they themselves feel and are so frightened and so very depressed made me so upset. I hope your pal is able to return home soon.

Your poor pal must feel so wretched, but hopefully he'll be able to use the phone regularly and he must so look forward to your visits.

A very swift early evening hello to you lovely lot...

Out all day in Oban. First of all we had lunch at a super fish restaurant on the quayside. EE-USK Gallic for Fish. The weather was kind to us. The hospital appointment was even kinder. MacS is remaining stable. His bloods are giving no cause for concern. Providing he doesn't take on board an infection between now and the next appointment which is in June, we can relax. We had a big soppy hug when we left the hospital. He's still waiting to have a scan on the aneurysm. However, we may celebrate with a wee dram before the night is upon us.

I shall be performing ironing duties tomorrow. In the afternoon I shall call by and catch up with all the latest happenings.

The visit to see our pal in the nursing home plays on our minds like a broken record. One poor lady was being very busy re-arranging all the furniture (several times over). The television was extremely loud and it was difficult to hold a decent conversation as a result. Two ladies were fast asleep and one other gentleman appeared to be in a world of his own. Our pal tried hard to be "perky" but he told us several times..."I'm so lonely..." We managed to get a mobile phone for him to use and he called his wife. After speaking with her, his face lit up, and we could see how much better the five minute call had made him. Apparently, he can use the phone whenever he wishes. Only no-one had told him so.

And as excuses go they are both pretty good!

My cleaner comes weekly because I would see the dust and cat hairs on the tiles and laminate flooring. That is mine!

I also think money spent on a cleaner is money very well spent. I have two ladies come every two weeks and work like whirling devishes for two hours. I really don't need one every week as we stay clean and relatively tidy between cleans.I really don't think we would be able to stay in this house which is a decent size and keep on top of things. That's my excuse anyway.

Grrr what else is going to go wrong?
Email from Sheila's wheels to contact them urgently. My previous insurance firm had told them I'd had an accident last year! I hadn't. A woman backed into my stationary car in Waitrose car park and drove off. Minor damage only which I reported but didn't claim for! They'd wrongly recorded it as a claim. Sending me the paperwork to remedy.
Clock running slow ( long case) so went to shorten pendulum and blooming screw and pendulum weight dropped off into base of clock.
Managed to retrieve them with a helping hand, now waiting for the wonderful Gary to pop in and replace as you need three hands to do it.
I'm waiting for the third catastrophe.

Soutra I do not smoke, drink very little, do not go on holidays, hate cleaning so a weekly cleaner is a treat.

Tara loves her which is a bonus.
