Yes Loopylou Ty Hardin was good looking. I have just checked and he has got divorced 7 times and now is on his 8th wife so it's just as well we didn't set our caps at him, as we may have ended up on the scrap heap.
My sister and I saw Bill Simpson (Dr Findlay) on a train once, but couldn't summon up the courage to say hello to him. I preferred his saturnine Celtic good looks to the bland looks of Dr Kildare whom I thought of as rather beige. (Runs for cover)
If you enjoy the nostalgia of these old radio programmes investigate radio 4extra. Life with the Lyons, Brothers in Law even, not long ago, Dr Finlay's Casebook and lots more.
soop I loved the Black and White Minstrels. I suppose it isn't PC to admit it nowadays, but it was lovely, family entertainment and I had forgotten about John Boulter, but you reminded me. We all used to sit round as a family to watch it
Janice Nicholls was on 'Thank your lucky stars'. We all used to laugh at her saying 'oi'll boi it and I'll give it foive' too
Sad news this morning as we heard that our friends little girl has died, aged six years, after battling cancer for most of her life. She was always so happy and full of life it is very hard to believe she has gone. My heart aches for her parents who have done everything they could for her. Kind of puts our problems into perspective.
I am just about packed and ready for the off tomorrow morning. It will be good to see DH and my sister.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Will be in touch.
Galen of course there are no calories in vodka- it is clear and looks like water does it not? There are no calories in water, so simple. Jelly beans maybe more problematic but surely you would need to eat a shed load to put on that amount of weight. It is definitely the cakes in soop's kitchen.
The Glums were part of TIFH. Patricia Brake was only born in 1942 (according to Wiki) and played Ronnie Barker's daughter in Porridge. TIFH was scripted by the great Frank Muir and Denis Norden - the latter still alive well into his 90s. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_It_From_Here
No no, it was anno who remembered soop. I was way off track....... I may have been thinking about The Glums, that was Patricia Brake. Can't trust my memory these. Puddled..........
