This poor little kitten PM appeared in my inbox late last night and I wondered if it belongs to anybody here? Because it definitely wasn't meant to come to me. Anybody recognise her it? There is a tag on its collar which says "not a problem" but no name sad

"Thanks for your PM. I couldn't care less, she's always been a boot licker as you said.
Yes. I am in Birmingham the last week of February so we can all meet up there for lunch again if that suits? I'll email you with the attachment tomorrow

X"

I have to say I have chortled heartily at the content and the thought of the blush of the sender, wondering just who (s)he could be meaning!gringrin

Any takers? You know who you are!!

granjura Good idea! I will start planning places to go & include Stoke etc and double my target! grin

Oh Petallus I think it is just some gentle teasing because someone made a mistake. At least that's my reading of it.confused

This sounds exactly like one of those simple-minded straight-to-video movies where a clique of air-head high school girls all receive phone calls or text messages from the alpha teen (aka prize bitch) disparaging the bright girl who doesn't toe their mindless line.

petallus Sun 08-Feb-15 19:02:46

I'm not sure why but I don't like this thread hmm

granjura Sun 08-Feb-15 18:59:20

Not the first time, I'm sure- that the pm function has been used for all the wrong reasons and for unpleasant gossip or, otherwise known as, 'slagging off' - sadly.

Nelliemoser Sun 08-Feb-15 18:55:50

Oh what a tangled web! Exciting things always seem to happen when I am out of town.

rosequartz Sun 08-Feb-15 18:54:58

I went to Birmingham three weeks ago but will not to be going at the end of February (with a bit of luck).

(No offence to Birmingham, it was to visit someone in hospital so have no wish to repeat it.)

I did not see anyone licking boots or a****s and did not do any myself! grin

merlotgran Sun 08-Feb-15 18:50:30

I must read OPs more carefully. I thought it said 'bootlegger'

It's not me BTW.

KatyK Sun 08-Feb-15 18:45:55

Well I am in Brum, I live here. I hope I have never licked any boots! (I hope) smile

Penstemmon Sun 08-Feb-15 18:37:55

Thank you Anno .have only been there once for an overnight stay at a conference with no time to explore..so maybe I will!

annodomini Sun 08-Feb-15 18:31:49

Penstemmon, we'll have you in Manchester - with pleasure!

Oldgreymare Sun 08-Feb-15 18:25:45

So sad! We had such a good meeting in Brum a couple of years ago and not a bitchy word. I do hope our venue has not been hijacked smile

Ana Sun 08-Feb-15 18:14:38

There's a Midlands Meetup thread started today, Penstemmon.

Meanwhile, I don't think any of us not 'in the know' will ever be any the wiser as to the identities of the PM Three!

granjura Sun 08-Feb-15 18:10:39

Go to the Potteries- 6 towns in one go ;)

Penstemmon Sun 08-Feb-15 18:08:22

(that was supposed to be 5 cities/towns this year!

Penstemmon Sun 08-Feb-15 18:07:30

I've never been to Brum.. if there is to be an 'open' get together then maybe I will join in. Anyone orgaising anything? but please note I am not licking anything. confused

I am aiming to visit 5 cities /towns in UK that I have not been to before (or for a long time). Did Bristol in January so B'ham could be next!

Stansgran Sun 08-Feb-15 17:43:42

Bootlicking in Brum sounds disgusting.

Ariadne Sun 08-Feb-15 17:43:22

Tee hee! grin

Stansgran Sun 08-Feb-15 17:43:12

What???

Soutra Sun 08-Feb-15 17:38:12

Aha!!

Riverwalk Sun 08-Feb-15 17:28:23

It's like something from Midsomer Murders! grin

I'd better cancel that ticket to Brum

annodomini Sun 08-Feb-15 17:04:00

How very mysterious. 'bootlicker'? I can't imagine how that could apply to any of the independent-minded women on here and I can't believe that anyone would want to own that description!

Ana Sun 08-Feb-15 17:03:39

And what's in the mysterious attachment...?

Soutra Sun 08-Feb-15 17:03:33

So maybe the person who sent A* (oops) a person a PM last night would now like to get in touch with that person and arrange their lunch where they can continue to slag off discuss the failings in their fellow Gransnetters?

janeainsworth Sun 08-Feb-15 17:01:09

Or perhaps more to the point, the bootlicker's identity..........hmm

Soutra Sun 08-Feb-15 16:41:36

Exactly.
