Well done *Brendawymms] a decent outcome unfortunately you've had to fight for what should have been straight forward. Write a complaint letter perhaps you'll get something out of this. it would be well deserved. Anyway enjoy your holiday Japan is worth the visit.

Had a phone call from cruise line and all is sorted including evtickets for flight and hotel in Japan. It does good to throw teddy out of pram occasionally but it has left me drained. Thanks again for your support.

I'd follow whatever they do with a letter of complaint so hopefully no one else will be the recipient of such poor customer service.

I'm used to fighting with airlines, airports and cruise lines! It's getting to be the norm. I think its a little worse if like me you're solo and disabled, but if you don't you'd stay at home all the time.

Someone has just phoned from Fred Apologising and promising to sort it all out. They Will email a new cruise ticket today and reassurance given about other problems. I stressed that I was very upset and asked that ever effort be made to ensure nothing else goes wrong.

It's a long time since I have felt so unwell about something and if I had phoned I hate to think what would have happened..

Thanks everyone for your support. Gransnetters at the best. I feel tearful just thinking about how supportive you have been. Thank you.

I agree with NfkDumpling and would write to the CEO Bendawymms. Part of the joy of a holiday is the anticipation and someone needs to get hold of this booking for you.

Brendawymms, I understand all that you say about not coping with stress....its something that has been driving me mad lately and I'm getting some professional help to give me some strategies.

But that's all besides the point....I'd phone them. Get all your bits of paper together and phone them up saying from the start 'THis is a complex on going problem, I am very upset and would like to speak to someone who can sort it out and do such and such (be specific with your requests)'. Take a deep breath and do not be fobbed off. You have warned them you are upset so, if you do say something out of character the ball is in their court.
Follow up with a letter as NflDumpling suggests/ Reiterating exactly what you want done.....many complaints are often a bit vague so itemise exactly what you want done. Good luck and hope all ends well.

Write to the CEO listing with bullet points all the failures. It'll be passed down to a minion - but a far more helpful one as it's come from the bosses office. It's worked for us in the past.

And ring too - tell them the letter is in the post!

I agree Brenda ring them while you are steaming and let them see/hear what it is doing to you. angry

I'd be incandescent Brendawymms!
The service you're getting is extremely poor, no wonder you're so stressed.
They're presumably keen enough to take your money so the least they could do is explain exactly what is going on!
I'd phone, and get very angry- appalling service.

unfortunately the whole booking process for this trip has been a nightmare, and has gone wrong at many stages just because it's two sectors. They denied that we had paid the air fare at one stage although they were sending all the flight information.
I don't cope well with uncertainty these days, used to cope with stress all the time when working, and all I want is a cruise ticket which includes both sectors. I don't think its too much to ask. The second sector ticket would not be due to come until a week after we board for the Tokyo to Singapore bit.
We cruise with Fred and up until this trip have been good but this one well, they sent a letter about visas but not the forms. They sent the tour booklet for the second sector but not the first. They denied we had paid for flight, over £2000 each but we had. It's been totally distressing and this is the final straw.
I do not feel that I could cope with phoning them without getting very very angry.

If it's two sectors it's quite common for them to be booked and ticketed separately. You'll probably find that you don't actually have to disembark. I'd phone your cruise line to check. I know cunard do this. Which line are you with?

Brendawymms Wed 04-Feb-15 10:29:47

We booked our cruise in July 2013. It's two sectors of a world cruise. TOKYO to SOUTHAMPTON. Today we got the cruise tickets. It's got us disembarking in Singapore. Every stage of this booking has been a nightmare with errors and problems. I have such a headache today I am so angry, I dare not phone the cruise company. I've sent an e mail but don't expect a swift answer. I have lost all anticipation for this holiday. Moan over.
