apricot Im not sure but I have read that if a cat is distressed that those...ohh I cant think of the name...its a thing that you plug in and it is supposed to de stress them...fellway or something like that..

Same here, just a bit further north, Nellie. I've just been outside to get something from the car and it's relatively calm and at present isn't raining.

I am in Cheshire and its not as bad here yet as you guys seem to be getting.

Awful when you lose a pet, and how sad for his brother, the poor thing must be so baffled, and nothing you can do in that situation to help.
Houses across road have lost aerials and tiles, daren't go and see if greenhouse surviving, could hear trees coming down in the woods behind us too.......

I was in the conservatory this afternoon, sewing, and it sounded very scary out there with terrific gusts of wind (South Wales).

Where are all the birds? I hope they have found nice big fir trees to shelter in.

I'm in north Wiltshire too. We rarely get extremes of weather but tonight is scary. I fear for my roof.
My cat is asleep. His brother was killed 10 days ago and he's grieving, searching and miaowing all day. I hope he's dreaming he's curled up with his darling brother. Sad sniff.

Do so hope all GNs up North are safe and little damage done, it's getting even worse here, neighbour's fence blown across road and trees down so cut off from village. Poor cat Thistle, so little you can do when you have distressed animals x

Very rough night, wind sounded like an express train running passed our house, trees down everywhere and no power. Hoping to get a bit more sleep tonight but it seems we are in for a bit of the same with snow storms mixed in, brrr. Cat very upset.

Very rough here, fir trees in wood behind us bending more that 45 degrees and horrible howling noise, giving me a headache.

For some reason it's getting very windy down here in the South East. Nothing on Scotland but quite rough.

I hope all in Scotland are safe. There were some very scary sounding winds here last night. We live in an end terraced, with a passage down the side, then an 8` wall separating us from a housing estate. About 2am there was a noise like an express train rushing through a tunnel, but everything outside was OK this morning. The wind wasn`t quite as strong this morning, but it`s building again now.

Stay safe all. Does anyone know if any airports have been affected, as DD2 is expecting a friend from NYork?

Windy overnight with us!! I thought that the greenhouse had blown away at one point. When I went to work at 03.30 I found parts of the log shelter almost under DH's car! It's a good job it blew about on the ground! I am not looking forward to the weekend as we live on a hill.

Blustery winds all night here, but calm this morning. My front garden now contains a whole lot of shredded paper and a decrepit Christmas tree (neither of them mine)

Hope no one has been too badly affected. Had to turn back and take another route out of my town as the usual road was blocked by a fallen tree.
My flight took off on time & the flight was just a little bumpy. A beautiful day here in London though.

Hope those in the West are all right. Even here in the North-East we've had trees down (one just down the road and one blocking the main road to Aberdeen at least) and the trains are off for most of the day until they've inspected the lines.

Pretty wild here in North Lanarkshire,praying ahv still got glass in my greenhouses,took forever to pick up all the glass in the garden last time,poor dogs couldn't use garden for a week after the storm.

Thinking of you all in exposed areas. The wind is gale force here tonight and it is very noisy, I will have to wear ear plugs if I am to get any sleep.

If the plane is fuelled with Irn Bru baubles you'll be fine

You are all so kind, its my 2 cats I worry about, they hate it, we let them in bed with us so they can hide under the covers, as they are Ragdolls, in the morning we are covered in hairs

I'm booked on a 7.30 am flight from Glasgow tomorrow, fingers crossed.
