We have done it before, shall we do it again?
Come on Ladies and pick up your pen,
A four line poem can be a bit fun,
That's my four lines, now I am done.

Is that banned from Essex or GN ?

Just trying to live up to the name.

littleflo Fri 16-Jan-15 22:13:50

Hey Pompa Dya think we might get banned. Giving Essex a bad name!!!!!!

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 22:09:38

Granddads swinging so it's said
and those fat ladies that just swing
lets get them together, just for while
that would make them all smile

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 22:03:47

Brilliant smile

littleflo Fri 16-Jan-15 22:01:18

I am now away to my bed
Dreams and thoughts a winging
Grandad in his tartan kilt
And everything is swinging

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 21:53:03

Oh how I wish I was a Scot
The tartan I'd wear wi sgian dubh
The sporran would be for what I'd got
safe and sound till the wind blew

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 21:18:54

Dozy ? Mares? no way
perhaps a filly sprightly
what do you say?
Chase you, nightly

NanKate Fri 16-Jan-15 20:56:55

Rotund men show us your wears
And don't call us dozy mares.
We love you for your silly ways
Come and chase us through the maze

littleflo Fri 16-Jan-15 20:52:01

Pompa what have you done
With your funny po em
Grandpa with his wild oats
He will soon be sowing

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 20:47:05

Fat ladies . Don't hide away
Don your finest threads
flaunt your assets every day
“Assets”, I'm careful what I say

numberplease Fri 16-Jan-15 17:09:49

This fat lady hides away,
Because she cannot dance,
She`d much prefer a roll in the hay,
If only she had the chance!

vampirequeen Fri 16-Jan-15 16:41:09

Fat ladies can swing
Fat ladies can dance
Fat ladies can do anything
Given half a chance.

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 11:16:44

Ne'er heard it called that before
Noggin, bonking, and Fadoodling
but Bingo ? I'm not so sure
are those fat ladies starting to swing?

littleflo Fri 16-Jan-15 10:27:35

Grannies on the Game?
Just what is this lingo?
Are you being euphemistic
For the dreaded Bingo?

pompa Fri 16-Jan-15 09:36:35

Grannies on the game ?
shock, horror, who could it be
I know, but could not name
you never know, it could be me !

littleflo Fri 16-Jan-15 08:59:37

When Newist started off this thread
I felt a weird prediction
Oh help me all, what can I do?
It's a complete addiction

Orange is a hard word
To find a rhyming match,
I do not wish to look a nerd,
Although it does come natch!

MrsPickle Thu 15-Jan-15 23:10:22

Farnorth laughing now
Because nothing is off limits
But panicking because
I have to rhyme with Nimitz!

FarNorth Thu 15-Jan-15 21:29:20

The tone goes up and down at will
Just like a flipping yo-yo
As long as we don't slide down hill
It's rhymes and pomes a go-go

pompa Thu 15-Jan-15 20:03:47

If we lowering the tone ?
Please don't leave me out
even if you quietly groan
how many rules he flout?

MrsPickle Thu 15-Jan-15 19:40:29

We have no tone for you to lower
For we love every word
It makes us grans a stronger bunch
From the sublime to absurd!

hildajenniJ Thu 15-Jan-15 19:34:37

I seem to have lowered the tone somewhat!!!!!!

hildajenniJ Thu 15-Jan-15 19:33:10

I found a pound
Upon the ground
It was golden
And oh so round.

I found it behind Dad's television yesterday.grin

Granset is a brilliant way
Of passing free time in the day
There is no subject that's taboo
Just a minute - need the loo!

Back again with rhymes galore
I'm trying not to make you snore.
You're all a fount of erudition -
Seasoned wisdom come to fruition.

So thank you all for sound advice
For flowers sent - they're all so nice
For kindly thoughts when life's been tough
I cannot thank you all enough.

MrsPickle Thu 15-Jan-15 19:08:12

It has made me write a proper pome
The sort that makes me want to think
I've posted it on UK Authors
So I hope it doesn't cause a stink!!
