Charleygirl, I am leaving a steak pie for you to collect next time you pop into the kitchen grin enjoy.

How did it go with the car situation?

Faulty scales Crafting? [ever optimistic emoticon]...... Daren't get mine out to find out!

Crafting Thu 01-Jan-15 09:52:54

Happy New Year to you all. Thank you Soop for our lovely new kitchen, nice that the "special" part is a warm welcome and comfort and support for all who visit (to say nothing of the endless supply of goodies!).

I got on the scales this morning sad so have resolved to eat nothing for the rest of the year grin

Charleygirl Thu 01-Jan-15 08:57:23

Happy New Year all. It sounded as though bombs were going off here last night just after midnight. I just put my duvet over my head and fell asleep. I cannot believe that it is the start of another new year.

loopylou Thu 01-Jan-15 08:15:39

Happy New Year everyone, do hope 2015 brings you everything you desire.
Also hope not too many sore heads in here this morning? smile

Slainte mhath to everyone from the Outer Hebrides.

Agus Thu 01-Jan-15 00:32:41

The fireworks seem to be getting noisier each year annsixty. The few that have been going off here sound more like explosives!

annsixty Thu 01-Jan-15 00:24:29

Happy New year to all, the fireworks were noisy rather than spectacular this year, and while I know they are really frowned on I remember a few years ago ,just after midnight the sky was full of Chinese lanterns ,hundreds of them.my guilty pleasure.

glassortwo Thu 01-Jan-15 00:09:16

Happy New Year everyone.

Thanks all. Yes, Charleygirl a spam free night would be a lovely thing indeed wink It's a real privilege reading some of the threads on here. Wishing you all well and happiness in the coming year x

Charleygirl Wed 31-Dec-14 22:56:28

Agus when I was a child and living in Scotland, my mother bought lovely steak pies from the local butcher. I do miss food like that because here, the bought steak pies are not the same.

Enjoy your evening Gigi we promise to be good and with luck we will not have any spammers visiting.

I am having problems staying awake so Tara and I are moving out of the lovely warm kitchen, saying goodnight to Rory and all who are there with him. Please do not overdo the alcohol- I doubt if the ambulance service could cope, taking you all to hospital.

Soutra Wed 31-Dec-14 22:53:55

With every intention of being asleep by midnight may I wish the Kitcheners all you would wish yourselves for 2015. There may be challenging times ahead but knowing there is always a sympathetic ear or a shoulder to cry on. - or a giggle when called for. - we need never be alone as long as soop's kitchen is open.
Happy New Year to one and all!

Ariadne Wed 31-Dec-14 22:35:32

Dear friends - thank heavens for soop to whom I raise a glass of thankfulness for her fortitude, love and wisdom. She is a very special person.

Goodness it's been busy since I looked in last.
Hello to everybody and the new kitchen - I expect it's even more comfortable than the ones before.
Anyway I don't know if I will stay awake, but I plan if so to do it in bed and warm. Taking my phone.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone, see you next year.

To Gigi Happy New Year and a valiant sacrifice. You are appreciated and very very welcome.

Nelliemoser Wed 31-Dec-14 20:37:28

I see this a new thread because the last one had filled up. I didn't realise that the last one was so near to total congestion.

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope it's kind to you and for those of you who have had tough times kinder than 2014 has been.

I have just sent OH out to buy some wine that's fit to take to a neighbour.
OH did not tell me until about 7:30 that we had been invited over the road for a little New Year party.
I must ring "mes enfants."

GigiGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 31-Dec-14 20:15:33

Agus - I volunteered! Gransnet is the perfect excuse to stay in tonight with my feet up,wine a big bar of chocolate and ...a thoroughly lovely bunch of people!

Agus Wed 31-Dec-14 20:06:35

Aw Gigi Did you draw the short straw for Hogmanay shift smile
Nice to know you will be around tonight.

Wishing you and yours a healthy, happy and peaceful new year.

Highland Cathedral is another favourite and the skirl of the pipes for me is emotional stuff too.
