At the moment there seem to be a number of people in my life who are experiencing problems. These are relatives and close friends that I love and inevitably worry about:
A young man with severe depression
A woman who's just had a major operation
A man with psychosis
A woman whose husband is working in a very dangerous place
A couple expecting their belated first child and she's started bleeding
A woman hundreds of miles from home who is in constant pain after major health problems
A woman who has just had her hopes for a major life-change dashed
And of course, the couple with the poorly baby
I was speaking with my very wise mother in law earlier and she has a similar list (some of the people on my list are also on hers of course), but pointed out something that I already knew; that where there is love there is pain. We are both very blessed to have so many people in our lives that we care about and inevitably there will be times when worrying events occur. Now I just need to turn the worries into responses and try to let them go. Easier said than done.
