Because she was annoyed he hadn't mentioned his affair with her in his autobiography, presumably because he didn't want to upset his wife. Very kind of her to drag it all up years later.

I don't like her politics but used to think she was mildly amusing until I heard her on a phone in. The lady who telephoned was saying how difficult she was finding it to manage financially and EC proceeded to interrogate her in quite an aggressive way as to whether she had a pet (if so, get rid of it), a flat screen TV (horror of horrors, she did - much tutting ensued), satellite TV (she didn't), was she a smoker? (no), did she buy takeaways (no) etc., etc. Ghastly.

I didn't think that Edwina Curry was seriously lusting after the young guy... I assumed it was all a bit of banter and craic not to be taken seriously - and working for the cameras.

I find men attractive but not young ones.

However, sometimes I'm enjoying having a bit of a teasing chat with a man in, say, his forties and I suddenly think 'oh God, I hope he doesn't think I'm flirting'.

janeainsworth - for info - last night Edwina was shown flirting with a fit, tanned, muscle-rippling hunky young man (can't remember his name). (He was loving whatever attention was thrown in his direction and was said to be flirting with all the women on the show.)

The two of them were shown together, with him agreeing to give her a full body massage. "Which parts of your body?" he asked her. "Shoulders and hips please" she replied. He was a bit taken aback by this. There was no screening of any massage taking place. Did it? Or didn't it?

She was also shown saying, in a thoughtful, musing way, how beautiful young bodies are to look at.

I agree. I love to look at beautiful young bodies, male and female, but I have no desire whatsoever to make any contact with them.

My problem is that I am attracted to (fit) older men, I have been in a relationship with one for years, but we are both getting much older now - - - and so we are having to re-negotiate what works for us, separately and together. Not always easy.

Yes, Edwina is Marmite - she's a tough cookie but I admire her brash, outspoken women-are-up-for-it qualities. Not sure if I would like her as my MP - but for me she might be a fun person to have as a neighbour, though!

I'm not saying she shouldn't say or do anything she wants - but I was just saying that if a man was behaving like that, then the sisterhood would be up in arms and saying he was sleazy!!

I liked her outspokenness in a time when women were meant to keep quiet and stay in the background and look decorative. My father met her and said she looked better in real life than she did on screen, much more attractive.

I will watch again now - I am intrigued by reality TV when a personality interests me - otherwise I find it boring and I switch over or switch off. And I have found Edwina interesting over the years, including before the revelations about her and John Major - that seemed a bit tacky but interesting being out in the open and from a woman.

I agree, janerowena. She may be outspoken and sometimes have an abrasive manner, but at least she did make it in her chosen career (at a time when politics was still seen as a male province).

I think Edwina needs her eyes testing if she fancied and had an affair with John Major, one of the most unsexy men I have ever seen in my opinion.

Also what must her poor hubby be thinking if she keeps lusting after younger men. He could of course be enjoying having a break from her so he can watch the telly in bed and have a nice cup of cocoa in peace and quiet.

As for her hubby, he sent her a very very loving letter which was read out to Edwina in the camp a few days ago. He is an ex-policeman and maybe understands her very well. She calls him JJ - I believe his name is also John so she has to distinguish between the two.

She comes across as a woman who relates very strongly towards men and enough of them like it enough to keep her happy!

I always felt she was tough on her daughters, though - but I can't remember the details of what happened when her marriage to their father ended.

PS - the hunk is called Jake. They are together in the jungle right now.

Am watching the TV programme right now: Either Ant or Dec (can't tell the difference between them) has just described her as the kind of person he doesn't like, as a "sexually aggressive female politician". Good job she has a thick skin.

That's exactly what has happened here . An older woman and a younger man have 'teased' each other with sexual innuendo. Nothing more nothing less, it's banter .

The press has 'gone for' Edwina Currie because she is who she is and folk who haven't seen the program have fallen for it.

It's a crap show with absolutely no intellect to it and it should be taken in context, it's just light hearted drivel !!!! That's why I like it
