Just heard that he has died.
Thought he was a really actor, sort of rough & ready but with a twinkle in his eye
RIP

I was also so sorry, I did enjoy watching his acting. He will be missed.

So sad, I always enjoyed his character portrayal. The acting world has lost a great. X

Too young to die, sadly. He was a marvellous character actor and I always enjoyed his performances.

Always affectionately known as Dalzeel in our house.

What a shame he's no longer with us sad

I know, very sad news. I loved him in Down to Earth with one of my favourite actresses Pauline Quirke. A very homely programme. X

Who?

Nonu Wed 12-Nov-14 18:55:50

RUBY, I love those homely programmes & they seemed to compliment each other so well !!

I feel quite sad he has gone !!

It is strange when you see them on screen you feel as you KNOW them.

merlot, we always called him Diesel smile

I liked him in Just William, he played Violet Elizabeth's father and Caroline Quentin played her mother. GD thought it was hilarious because she called him 'Botty'.

I really liked Warren Clarke - everything he was in was very watchable but we especially liked Dalziel.RIP.

Some years ago he was in a programme called (I think) A Respectable Trade. It was about a businessman who became involved in the slave trade during the 19th century and his conflicting feelings about it. It was a very powerful and thought provoking performance.

I really liked him and found him sexy because he could be quite twinkly on occasion especially as Dalziel. He was one of my favourites actors and a similar age to me which I find quite scary. The timeline conveyor belt is chuntering on.......
