kitty that is so exciting!! How much do you have to pay to the nice Chinese man to release this money?

Galen it all sounds delicious - and ambitious!

Agus Thu 20-Nov-14 16:55:41

Oh, that sounds wonderful Galen. Love all of those ingredients.

I'm sure your diners will enjoy everything on the menu..Lucky beggars.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 16:52:20

What's an irk?
I typed larks!

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 16:51:51

I don't joke about cooking. It's a very serious business!
There's also headless lrks which are rather nice!

kittylester Thu 20-Nov-14 16:50:31

Enjoy your day with bags, soop.

I've just come in to tell you that our luck has changed and to offer you all wine.

Apparently, DH's uncle Charles asked a very nice sounding Chinese man to look after some money that no-one else in the family knew about. Unfortunately, Uncle Charles died and this money is still waiting in a secret bank account - just for us! We are so excited! DH did actually have an uncle Charles but we suspect his son (known as 'Cheeky John' for some long forgotten reason) would be quite upset if we get the money although the nice Chinese man has asked us to keep it a secret -so that's ok! wine

Casserole of lions head
Oh, it's real, I thought it was a joke! grin

soop Thu 20-Nov-14 16:36:53

Galen I just knew that wouldn't be grilling a humble sausage...Oh no...not you...only the most exciting and exotic of recipes are worthy of your time and trouble. Us lot are in awe. wink

Agus dear, the very thought of lemon drizzle cake makes me swoon. I do my best to steer clear of such naughty but nice things in reality However, when we all virtually get together, I can well imagine myself scoffing nibbling daintily on whatever is on offer. smile

I shall come into our kitchen later tomorrow. I may even have a photo of bags and me to upload.

We'll raise a glass of something non-alcoholic to you all. Bye for now. moon

It's basically pork meat balls made with chopped spring onions, cornflour, soy sauce and ginger. Deep fried, then braised in a soy stock broth and served on a bed of steamed greens with broth poured over.
I substitute Turkey mince for the pork and serve on spinach or pak Choy. You're supposed to drape some of the greens over the balls to simulate the mane.
It's a little fiddly, but delicious

Agus Thu 20-Nov-14 15:06:37

I have had tete de veau but lions head is a new one on me. All sounds delicious though and not surprised you have no time for baking. Bon apetit.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 14:55:43

I'm cooking a chinese supper for my staff tomorrow
Casserole of lions head
Lemon chicken
Red cooked lamb
Stir fried mixed veg
Noodles.

No time for baking at the moment.

Now to catch those pesky lions!

Agus Thu 20-Nov-14 14:43:09

Strange as it may seem, I do not have a sweet tooth and very rarely eat cake. However since I became part of the 'kitchen' crowd, who are a very bad influence I might add, I stuff my face with any cake offerings going in here.grin

What delights are you preparing for us Galen? wink

soop Thu 20-Nov-14 14:35:10

Galen ...never ever fails to put a daft grin on my face. Keep up the good work and do go gentle with the crew when you set sail...wink

Crafting I send all good wishes for your husband's stay in hospital. I hope that he'll return home as good as new. sunshine

rosequartz All kitcheners are entitled to whatever they fancy [when visiting our kitchen]. Word of warning...beware Galen she is a little minx and gets up to all sorts when not being monitered. Not that she'd own up to anything. She's far too canny. grin

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 13:38:18

Blimey, my poppy from the Toewer of London has just arrived.
I'm now waiting for my groceries from Sainsburys and then I can start my lions head casserole

whenim64 Thu 20-Nov-14 13:16:06

Lovely. Enjoy, Galen

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 13:11:27

Just been unpacking my mason cash hoard!
Suppose I'd better learn to bake now!

I'm afraid its Lisbon, Oporto and Barcelona Malaga Toulon and Gibraltar. ( not in that order)

Agus Thu 20-Nov-14 12:44:39

And so he should Crafting. For medicinal purposes of course.

Please tell him he has my permission. grin Slainte

Hope his hospital appointment goes well.

rosequartz Thu 20-Nov-14 12:31:12

Are you being served? If not Galen seems to be available.
A large piece of lemon drizzle and a skinny latte please, Galen grin

dustyangel Thu 20-Nov-14 12:04:18

Galen I've just read the previous posts properly and realise that you are free of all the bad things in life, so therefore you are absolutely delicious.smile
I don't know if your cruise is putting in on the southern coast of Portugal or as is more likely Lisbon or Porto on the west coast. If you are in the south and would like to meet up, I will pm you my phone number.

dustyangel Thu 20-Nov-14 11:25:51

What are you free of Galen?

Lona sigh. sad Oh well, it's probably for the best.

It's that soop's fault .ever since coming into the kitchen I have developed a sweet tooth and if I'm out, looking for some goody to go with a cup of coffee. I test flapjacks and lemon drizzle cake where ever I go.

Galen Thu 20-Nov-14 11:14:14

I'm free!

Crafting Thu 20-Nov-14 10:36:57

Soop glad to hear you got back from your hospital trip ok and that you finally have a diagnosis for MacS. Hope you get a suitable treatment plan sorted soon. flowers. Have a good time with bags on Friday.

Agus as DH is going to a hospital appointment tomorrow, he thought your suggestion of a wee dram following any hospital appointment an idea he might indulge in too grin

Bella lovely photo of you and your DGD.

rosequartz Wed 19-Nov-14 21:28:27

I am assuming every morsel in soop's kitchen is gluten free, dairy free, nut free and sugar free etc for anyone who needs to be 'free' - as well as being absolutely delicious and full of all the goodies we enjoy grin

kittylester Wed 19-Nov-14 21:10:41

I assume it's gf too lona grin

Lona Wed 19-Nov-14 20:56:03

dusty Glad to hear that your back is improving albeit slowly flowers
As for the recipe for my famous Lemon Drizzle cake grin..................

mrshat Wed 19-Nov-14 20:55:25

Pleased you have a proper diagnosis at last for MacS. Now for the positive thinking and the right treatment and lots of 'wee drams' to help you along. Keep strong and look after each other flowers
