Good morning all I've put on the kettle.

I've got 'nothing to do day' today. By which I mean nothing that takes me out of the house other than a dog walk. There are a million and one things I could be doing in the house but I'm not going to fash myself over them.

Yesterday I accidentally cleared out two kitchen cupboards. I couldn't find what I was looking for and before I knew it I had empty shelves and a cloth in my hand.

Perhaps I'll just bake a cake for the kitchen.

I've popped in to have a bit of quiet thinking time. I was unpleasantly ridiculed last night, and although I didn't let it pass by, am still a bit shaken up by it this morning.

soop I'm glad your travels went well and Rory has realised you do come back. We had a cat who took it as a personal affront if we went away on holiday and on our return would live in a neighbour's garden for at least a week before we were forgiven (or were we?)

A lovely cup of tea and a wander round the threads before I walk my dog, who is patrolling the garden fence at the moment, hoping next door's cat will acknowledge her. No chance!

Hello to all my lovely Granspals. It certainly has been a busy time. Whoever upset ffinnochio won't be admitted to our kitchen. What's more, Dale can go and find something useful to do. We kitcheners enjoy harmony and peace...something that others may find tiresome. Should they do so, that is their problem, not ours.

Baubles I agree that it is far too easy to accidentally overdo the housework. Although I autumn cleaned before our trip, I am horrified to find that the dust has disrespectfully returned and has parked itself on the items of furniture on which the sun shines.

when and Charleygirl Dear MacSporran was fearful that, if Rory was permitted to leave the confines of our home [in our absence] he would take it into his head to "wander off"...rubbish...Rory has all any self respecting cat could wish for. He has a chaise with his personal blanket and cushion. He has three meals each day. He has all the bonding sessions he demands. Whereas once upon a time he was homeless...walked miles to hunt for food...and had certainly never been touched, let alone cuddled, by a member of the human race.

Mamie not just ONE but TWO sizes too small. I am mightily impressed. That is some achievement. Good for you.

soop I quite agree, there is no way that Rory is going to ever leave his haven of rest voluntarily. He knows that he has never had it so good and never will, unless of course he came to a certain other house which is very cat orientated! He could choose his bedroom!

I am surprised that you feed him 3 meals a day as two meals are the norm. Tara grazes 24/7 and that suits her.

Good afternoon all. It sounds like Soop and McS have settled well in at home again. Soop, I`m intrigued by your house having metal doors?
Charleygirl, our Mia is fed 3 times a day as well, as was her predecessor, who we unfortunately didn`t have for very long. But in the past, all our pets, dogs and cats, have only ever had 2 meals a day, it`s just that Pepper and Mia seemed to expect it, they were both rescue cats.
We spent yesterday afternoon at the hospital, hubby had to see the consultant about the procedure he had a month ago to decide whether or not he could have his stoma reversal operation. He was pleased to be told that everything is fine to go ahead, but I`m a bit daunted by the fact that until his bowel settles down again, he may "go" 10 to 15 times a day! Do you think Asda will do me a special deal on toilet rolls, lol?

suebailey PLEASE promise to keep up with us lot in the kitchen. We like having your company.

Charleygirl Three meals, yes but not large meals. He has a quota of vet's special diet biscuits which have to be shared between the three sittings. Sometimes he has a few cubes of chicken or a minute taster of oily fish added to said biscuits. He is a huge cat. His head, compared with my son's cat's head, is twice as big. He is easily three times larger than the wee cat that took a shine to MacS when we were away.

number Your husband must feel relieved to have learned that the stoma reversal can go ahead. As for the number of visits to the bathroom... I wonder whether he should get a large tub of Sudocrem. I had an awful sore bottom after my prolapse operation. I was that sore I could barely sit.
As for the metal doors...MacS selected them because wood would, over time, warp in the high, salt-laden winds that whip off the sea.

Welcome back soop, pleased to hear you had such an enjoyable family visit! Isn't it great when you can all get together.

Missed the "dale" episode - seems I didn't miss much!

Been busy in the garden today as although windy (the weather not me) it has been warm and quite sunny, so I've been cutting back the lavender which is now just about over, just the odd bee buzzing around - the smell has been gorgeous and is still clinging to my clothes.

To clear up Dale mystery for those who were doing more useful things at 6am, when I had a look at active threads, there were about 7 which had been posted by this character. It was standard spam make lots of money at home stuff. I reported to GNHQ and I had a swiftish email telling me he had been deleted or whatever they do to spammers. Cannot imagine why these people bother? Spammers that is not GNHQ obviously

Soutra and Anno - I'm touched by your support - but it wasn't to do with GN I'm pleased to say. Someone whom I considered a friend decided to come out of left field and lay into me, in company. Confidences were breached - unforgivable.
