Oh Bella wish I could be with you.
Grandson of New Limerick (Son of New Limerick contd.)
Burnham to tell schools in England to adapt teaching to local business needs- what do you think?
Hello and a warm welcome to you lovely lot. I'm about to brew a fresh pot of tea and there are plenty of goodies for us to munch on...
Oh Bella wish I could be with you.
Bellasnana we're all with you and wishing for better results tomorrow
Baubles that was nasty. I hope your wrist heals quickly. Good job you had someone with you
Bella I would so love to hold your other hand. You know how precious you are to us lot.

baubles What a terrible shock for you (and your friend) she must have felt awful. Bless you, I'm pleased that you had the attention you needed in A&E. Please take it easy and allow yourself to be pampered.
Greenfinch and Grannybug Welcome to the kitchen. It's lovely of you to call in. Make yourselves comfortable. It's piddling down with rain at the moment. We should all gather together and share each others company.
Soutra I've also experienced that same blissful feeling of peace and calm two or three times in my life. It is a sensation unlike any other. It beats all the so-called "highs" that some folk seek. Peace is what I wish for all my dear Granspals.
MacS was able to speak (on the phone) to the secretary of the new man who will be dealing with his case. Since being referred by the previous consultant, his name is steadily climbing the list of existing patients, and he should have a date soonish. He's relieved that he hasn't missed an appointment. We believe some recent post went on a walkabout.
Every morning after my shower, I wipe the glass shelves in the bathroom. This morning I came a right cropper. I was not aware that the lavatory seat was up...I moved from the shelves over the basin and knelt on what I believed was a firm surface. Consequently I fell heavily between the loo and the bath, hitting my nose on the edge of the lavvy and bashing my leg, now beautifully bruised. My right hip is twinging (a little). It could have been much worse. I could have pulled the glass shelf off the wall. I could have dislocated my hip, as the leg was at an awkward angle. MacS heard the thud and came to my rescue. Silly bat! (me, not he.)
Grrrrr. I've just done a great long post and lost it all. So I'll just send a big (((hug))) and
and
to those in the quiet corner. Bella I wish I could be with you tomorrow.
Congratulations to Alie and Thankyou for letting us share in the joy of your new grandson.
Enjoy yourself in Sandhurst Anno a late Happy Birthday to you.
baubles, that was a nasty shock for you. Hope your arm recovers well.
soop, nasty shock for you too, hope you are not too badly bruised.
for all you poorly and sad ladies.
Oh my goodness soop not another black eye? You must take your own advice and look after yourself.
Some
for you too! I hope there are plenty of vases in the kitchen.
For heavens sake Soop you must learn to take more water with it, or alternatively take some judo lessons so that you learn to fall properly!
A belated happy birthday greeting to Anno

baubles The cheek bone is reddish and the shin bone is blackish...otherwise, I'm more or less "in the pink". I trust that you have some decent painkillers for your broken wrist. I mentioned your accident to MacS and he sends his best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Galen I was as sober as a judge. I had only just finished my early morning cuppa (tea)...I believe that I tumbled as gracefully as any other naked soul going A over T. Practice makes perfect!
I was lunching with a judge yesterday, so I know exactly how much judges drink
Off to tackle a mountain of ironing. Heady pleasures...
Galen I knew that you would say something like that. Titters.
Hi everyone
Is there room for a tired one? I seem to have done too much yesterday and I've 'gorn orf' again today! I told middle daughter who said 'it does take you a long time to get over things now you're older!'
(hugs) to all who need them and congratulations to your daughter alie.
kitty (((hugs))) for you.
I should be ironing. I can't because the iron has decided to die on me. MacS had a good look at it and proclaimed it useless. It's my silly fault. I left it on the board as I put stuff away last week, and it either fell on it's face, or I left it to burn a b*** big hole in the cover. On discovering the smouldering cover and through lots of nasty smoke, I rescued the situation (just in time.) Well, that wasn't the end of the matter. Oh no! As I was putting the board away, it broke in half
and the darn thing lay on the floor in a heap of what appeared to be sawdust.
MacS did say that it was well past it's use-by date. He was being nice and friendly, naturally. We had to ditch the ironing board and purchased a new one at 'Nickle and Dime' - a cut price shop in Campbeltown. Now it seems that we need to return for a new iron. Sigh! I know...no need to scald me, Galen, I'm such a silly moo.
Also, I was thinking that MacS was speaking to the new consultant's secretary this morning. The fall must have got me all confused, because he was speaking with the admissions/appointments desk at Oban hospital. He explained that the GP had given him the number to ring in order to clarify that he had not missed an appointment. Talk about here we go round the mulberry bush. I'm all of a flummox. Must be my age
soop SIT DOWN AND RELAX for a while at least! We'll start calling you Mrs Mishap if you aren't careful
Honestly, the things you'll do to get MacS running around after you!
I hope you're ok and not too sore
Bella As always sending love and positive thoughts to you both
Thanks for the welcome*soop*.I often lurk and eavesdrop but I am not one for entering a room full of people friendly as they are !
You do seem to have had a lot of disasters today soop.I should go to bed and start again tomorrow.
Anno you missed our meet-up by one week. It would be lovely to see you in Reading sometime.
Gosh! What a lot of shocking news! Hugs all round and a tray of Baggy Flapjack. Help yourselves. No, wait! Sit still, especially soop
, I'll hand them round.
It has been a miserable day here, weatherwise, but I have achieved what I set out to achieve in the pouring rain, stacking wood. Now I need a diplomatic (or humorous, preferably both) way to ask MrBags to please put a baking tray or some foil on the floor of the oven when he's drying his meat for pemmican, just so I don't have to scrape the dried blood off.
Oh dear, Soop and Baubles, I hope you`re both still alright, please take good care of yourself. Soop, if it`s the shop I`m thinking of, we`ve bought quite a few things from Nickel and Dime. I`m sitting here racking my brain, what there is of it, for Christmas gift ideas, and getting no help at all from my other half, his answer is always "give `em money"!
Soop grab Rory, sit down and put your feet up before you cause any more mischief!
Bags are you expecting a winter seige? Have you killed the pig and salted down the joints as well?
You could always suggest to him that dried blood can be used to make boudin noir if it's collected in a dish under the pemmican
Thanks ever so for the virtual flapjacks bags I could do with sampling two or three.
Best not and say I did. As for suggesting that Mr bags needs a little gentle persuasion to protect the oven floor from the thingyamejig [I've not even heard of it, let alone tasted it] I suggest that you remind him (nicely) that you've stacked a towering mountain of wood just so that he doesn't catch a nasty chill.
greenfinch I like your name. We often have a few of the feathered variety in our garden. Do come in more often. We're not such a bad bunch.
It's the one and only 'Nickle and Dime', number... a cavernous place, and I usually manage to lose MacS when I'm looking at stuff I fancy and he's being sensible and heading straight for the item we've come in to buy.
Galen and Lona Rory has been otherwise engaged throughout the afternoon. He climbed on to MacS's lap some time ago, and he hasn't budged since. It's far too wet and windy for him to go wandering around the garden. Having said that, the back door is ajar. Why, you may ask...so that the wee mouse may realise that there is a way out, should it wish to escape from wherever it is lurking. We shall buy a humane mouse trap from N 'n' D tomorrow. MacS intends putting a little bread and peanut butter in the trap. If he could also manage to include a bowl of water he'd do so... Don't laugh. I'm being deadly serious.
Ho hum, it's time for me to shift my backside from this chair. Campbeltown tomorrow. Return with a new iron. Make myself useful for at least half the afternoon. Catch up with my Granspals after that. Night night to you all.

P.S. We've almost reached 900 posts.
How time flies!
Hallo all haven't been here for a little while as I have been zooming about but I have been thinking of you all and trying to imagine you at home especially in kitchesn for some reason- I suppose its cos I do my thinking whilst cooking the evening meal. no cokking tonight Dh is out to Bowls (otherwise known as watching paintdrying) and its me an Lewis and a reheated chilli. Good afternoon in the Fairtrdaing Post - fascinating and lovely stuff - have you got one near you?
hugs and more hugs
Wrong forget the mousetrap. ( btw the inspector did it)
I hope I am not responsible for any of the accidents befalling you kitcheners - just wondering if it was that magnum of champagne I left with you all to toast the new arrival.
soop please take it easy, you are feeling anxious about MacS of course and, if you're like me, not concentrating when you are anxious.
Ironing boards these days are not what they were - they seem to rust and rot very quickly with the steam from the iron. I inherited an ironing board from my aunt's shed nearly 40 years ago and it lasted for many, many years, but the latest versions barely last for 2! Built-in obsolescence or whatever they call it.
baubles please take care and hope your wrist mends soon.
bellasnana hope the news is positive for you and your DH.
Some
and more
for all - definitely no more champagne from me. We want you all sober and in control!
