Not these, they are from a friend's tree. In Kent the hedges and woods were far larger than here, I could pick elderberries, blackberries, hazelnuts sloes and damsons just from walking down my lane, and frequently did. The soil here is quite acidic so there isn't such a variety of hedgerow plants, I really miss that.

janerowena just love damson chutney - are they from wild damsons? When we lived in the Midlands we used to go walking in Worcestershire where there were many wild damson trees, now we are in Hampshire we have planted one in our garden - seven damsons this first year but each one delicious. Hoping for a better crop next yearl.

Your colour scheme sounds lovely, thank you.

Yes, hope it all goes smoothly, when.

Today is for damson chutney. I was going to start it off with a long leisurely bath, but then the window cleaner turned up. Probably best not to have a bath before immersing myself in vinegar fumes anyway. It's warm and dry but overcast.

I once did one in pale lemon, jamsidedown. With dark blue and white fabrics, it always looked lovely and sunny.

Hi Printmiss, an enjoyable but unsuccessful shopping day in Chichester thanks. We have a new loft conversion and trying to find inspiration for colour schemes. Too much choice I think! We may be narrowing it down though, but could require another few shopping trips - oh dear!

Hope you have a lovely day when, and congratulations.

Walked the dog in the sun first thing now very grey but mild.

Car MOT today fingers crossed it passes.
DH improving, last lot of antibiotics today. Does anyone know if the stuff in his lungs will get absorbed back as he doesn't have a cough, so not sure how it will be got rid of.

Hot but a bit overcast here. We are just off to the Cotswold Water Park to play by a lake for the week. DD and children coming for the weekend at the start, so boating, hot tub and BBQs we hope. Weather forecast is good - fingers crossed!

Sunny here!

Good morning from a dull grey East Northants. Leaves beginning to drop and autumnal colours noticeable with plenty of berries on display.

harrigran Fri 05-Sept-14 09:54:54

Good morning from a grey north east, it was very foggy last night and first thing. Going to Durham for lunch, nearly always better weather further inland.
Have a super day when and may the sunshine

When - hope you and your family have a wonderful day and that the blue sky here in Manchester right now stays put.

annodomini Fri 05-Sept-14 09:29:24

Good morning everyone. Lovely here and it bodes well for your son's wedding, when - not very far from here.

hildajenniJ Fri 05-Sept-14 09:08:01

Good morning all. It's a lovely sunny morning in Northumberland, after a very foggy start. DH wants to go somewhere today as it's his day off, so a quick tidy and a change of clothes and then we'll see where we get to.

suebailey1 Fri 05-Sept-14 08:59:58

Heavy cloud here today- chest infection seems to be going now but funny to watch DH trying to make out that I have given him a cold!

sparkygran Fri 05-Sept-14 08:46:26

Heavy cloud at the moment but sun struggling to get through in N Ireland. Out this evening for dinner with an old friend

jamsidedown Fri 05-Sept-14 08:40:47

Good morning all
Grey day, uninspiring but off to Pilates class then to see DGD. Yes, Chichester is a great place for eateries, and I would love to meet up. Off on hols for two weeks soon, but October would be good for me if that suits.

Gagagran Fri 05-Sept-14 08:36:34

Morning all! Dull and overcast but very mild here in SE Hampshire. I have just about got back to normal after our few days in France. It seems to take for ever to get the cases unpacked, laundry done, fridge re-stocked and all the bits and pieces taken away with us back in their places.

We ought to have a Chichester meet-up as I am very near and it sounds as if Printmiss and Jam might be up for it. It is a lovely place with lots of eateries. Anyone else fancy it?

Happy days everyone. sunshine

rubysong Fri 05-Sept-14 08:26:22

Happy Friday all. A quieter day today after yesterday's trip to the beach. I'm going to buy tickets for a folk concert in the next village and this evening DH wants to go and see a steam train come over the Tamar bridge into Cornwall so I will go with him.

ninathenana Fri 05-Sept-14 08:25:45

Morning all.
Grey and still here in N.Kent.
I have just opened the bedroom window wide and surveyed mine and others gardens. Shame to say, Mick is right, the leaves are beginning to fall.

NfkDumpling Fri 05-Sept-14 08:25:07

Overcast but dry here.

Have a wonderful day When.

Good morning everyone, very still here, but again, hope for a fine day, but no gardening. Enjoy your day when, and hope your son will be happy. Did you enjoy your day at Chichester Jam, I love the city and used to visit once a week - seem to have lost that habit, must take it up again. We had a lovely meal out with our birthday friend, so I am taking her a little gift today to say thank you - we did not buy her a birthday gift, something we agree on, but the meal out and the venue were lovely, so I decided to say thank you nicely! Enjoy your days.
