When I was young (er), it was considered the height of bad fashion to wear high heels with trousers or jeans, the magazines all said that we should wear low heels or flats with trousers. I must admit to wishing that I could still walk in high heels, I feel clumpy and frumpy in my sandals, which is all I wear these days, even low heeled shoes hurt my feet.

. Yes, it could be my flibberty-gibberty heel-loving comeuppance, but all the women in my family are afflicted by them, whatever footwear style they favour, so I'm more inclined to think they're hereditary. Until about a year ago I could walk round all day in my heels without any discomfort.
