Hi everyone, I used to be silverfish. I tried agreeing with silverfish but no one guessed it was me so for now I will be Ethel.
Hope you still all love me lol

Shouldn't be hard to find, Argus - I know Cherry Blossom do a tennis shoe whitener which is widely available.

GrannyTwice Wed 06-Aug-14 21:19:30

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:34:50

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:36:58

And they could cut me off any minute.

Don't miss me too much when I'm gone. sad sniff

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:41:58

I have had an email. They don't encourage name changing. Apparently.

I WANNA BE ORLAKIERLYHANDBAGS.

It's not fair.

Ana Wed 06-Aug-14 21:44:12

Just join again, jingl - you've done it many times before...hmm

Ana Wed 06-Aug-14 21:45:10

Though I don't think you're allowed to have a shouty name...

merlotgran Wed 06-Aug-14 21:48:20

Is she that war correspondent?

Haven't noticed her handbag though hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:52:45

No. Not that Orla. The other one.

AlieOxon Wed 06-Aug-14 21:53:44

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:55:50

I spelt it wrong anyway

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 06-Aug-14 21:56:35

Anne58 Wed 06-Aug-14 22:07:53

merlot in my book you win, because you got all of the names for the footwear in! Well done! grin

PS Glad I didn't have explain the "suppurating men" thing!

Galen Wed 06-Aug-14 22:21:23

As I'm a pussycat at heart. I'll be Bagpuss.

Agus Wed 06-Aug-14 22:22:01

Thanks Ana, I'll have a look for the Cherry Blossom.

merlotgran Wed 06-Aug-14 22:27:34

DH loved your poem, Phoenix. Not sure if it was the Yorkshire landlady he related to or the sweaty feet. grin

Granny23 Thu 07-Aug-14 01:32:57

Like Agus we had sandshoes (usually white) and gym shoes (always black) until our village had an influx of mining families from Lanarkshire who called both sorts 'gutties'.
BTW I just pop sandshoes and trainers in the washing machine at 40 degrees and they come out like new - I thought everyone did that nowadays?
The only names that seem appropriate for me are baglady and binbags so I think I will just stick to what I have got now grin

ffinnochio Thu 07-Aug-14 05:19:36

Always daps when I was growing up.
As for a name change, amerebagatelle seems appropriate at the moment.

Is it worth it, I have used my username on other social networks in the past such as the late Saga Zone, which closed due to the amount of abuse made by users and I see another age related over 50`s website is using a 3 strikes and your out, obvious working on similar house rules laid down by the Saga as to behaviour.

rosequartz Thu 07-Aug-14 09:32:47

Oh, just when I was planning to be ibaggedthatsunbed.

etheltbags1 Thu 07-Aug-14 09:33:39

I get tired of the 'little nasty things' remarks. I told everyone because im honest and it was not to agree with myself cos if Id wanted to do that I would have kept on being silverfish as well as ethel, I could have had some fun doing that but on reflection I thought It would be too much bother. If anyone doesn't like it - tough

Penstemmon Thu 07-Aug-14 10:18:19

Also why would you want/need to have a double entry on GN? hmm

Ana Thu 07-Aug-14 10:21:58

Surely you can't have two usernames on the go at the same time?
Unless you use a different computer address for each, I suppose...

POGS Thu 07-Aug-14 10:29:25

ethelbags1

Having started this thread you should expect posts relating to it, also other threads.

I understand you have been open about your change of name and I like that, as it was obviously not a move made because of personal problems as some other GN's have sadly found the need to change their name.

I find your last post a bit sensitive given the fact you started this thread on the 6th Aug but on another thread you openly post of 4th Aug as silverfish but then on the 6th you posted as ethelbags1 stating 'I agree with silverfish', on the very same thread. It is a bit weird for a poster to agree with her/himself and I think it was not a surprise another GN mentioned it.

Maybe this would have been avoided had you not posted in agreement with yourself and simply mentioned the fact on that thread you had changed your name for the benefit of being open to other posters.
