'Bo Peeps Arms' (formerly Pete's Bar) reopening night

Pete's old place has been empty for a while now but a few of us 'regulars' slipped down the lane one night, prised away a few planks holding the door on, and are now squatting in the public bar.

The tea-lights add an interesting 'dimension' to the bar (plus magically erase wrinklesgrin).

It needs cleaning up a bit - so laydees come along, bring rags/buckets/mops - and whatever else you can lay your mitts on to swab the decks down. I've brought a box of Country Manor perry - so bring your own tin mugs and we'll get started. The planned Grand Opening Night is tomorrow…so someone will need to nip down to the shop and get in a few bottles. Glam are you okay with rustling up some sausages rolls? you could put a bit of that green stuff (parsley?) on them to make them look posh…..

I was going to search but had to wash my hair .

You go girl, 3 cheers , hip hip , hip hip hurray

Glam do hope you are off that Flamin" mountain, Mr G has been sick with worry he has been phoning me every 30 minutes.

boheminan Sun 10-Aug-14 19:26:43

Where's the Honesty Box gonehmm

Ana Sun 10-Aug-14 19:44:46

Well, papaoscar did mention something about raiding it...how very dare he enter The Ladies without permission!

It is for Laydees only, after all...hmm

Nonu Sun 10-Aug-14 19:54:37

OH ANA he wouldn't would he?

,
Always seems such an upright sort of chap to me , BUT of course he does frequent GRabbits, and to be frank on the QT you understand, poor dear Mr N was a bit shocked at the going on"s there .

wink

Ana Sun 10-Aug-14 20:06:02

I bet he was, what with all that thingy steaming and what-have-you! shock

(Mind you, I don't think there was that much in the honesty box - it didn't weigh much. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it had been wafted under one of the loos by a puff of wind...)

Nonu Sun 10-Aug-14 20:15:03

Laugh!!!!

Lona Sun 10-Aug-14 20:17:16

Well, that's two good reasons not to go in that loo! shock

Nonu Sun 10-Aug-14 20:21:15

Absoutly , we Laydees know how to conduct ourselves !

papaoscar Sun 10-Aug-14 20:47:51

Not guilty, M'Laydees! I was attending a lecture at Cosmo Grimes' School of Botanical Brewing and succumbed to the fumes from an infusion of bloater paste and tea leaves. I had to be revived by the application of light massage and a loofah. The culprit, I suspect, is much closer to home and we may have to bring in Inspector Knacker of the Yard's boys and girls. Must dash off now to Grabbits as I hear there's a bogof in the steam room. Could be quite a squash!

Nonu Sun 10-Aug-14 20:51:19

You are a one you pAPA slippery as an eel. !!!

Ana Sun 10-Aug-14 20:54:26

How do you know that, Nonu??? confused

Nonu Sun 10-Aug-14 21:02:01

How do I know WHAT?

Ana Sun 10-Aug-14 21:18:16

About papaoscar's slipperiness, of course...!

boheminan Mon 11-Aug-14 18:55:49

Have found the empty Honesty Box hidden in the Laydees toilet, behind the wellyboot machineshock. From what I remember, there was hundreds, if not thousands of pounds in it when I left on Saturday nightgrin Laydees, I fear we may have a light-fingered person in our midst

Lona Mon 11-Aug-14 19:21:40

Nah Bo, It'll be Pete.
He's always been light fingered and if he's not ticklin' some old trout, he's a dab hand at emptying the Honesty Box (or as he calls it 'my savings account') with a bit of bent wire!
You mark my words! [nudge] [nudge] wink wink

boheminan Mon 11-Aug-14 19:26:56

why is Pete using the Laydees toiletsconfused - though it explains why the seat's always up

Ana Mon 11-Aug-14 19:32:37

Ah well, at least it'll keep him off the streets for a couple of nights...confused

Lona Mon 11-Aug-14 21:30:49

Yeah, he's gone down to Grabbits with papaoscar to get his thingy steamed or something, ....... I think hmm

merlotgran Mon 11-Aug-14 22:06:56

'Allo Allo' I've just lost a filling on a pork scratching. Any decent Scotch around here or am I too late for some alcoholic analgesia?

Ana Mon 11-Aug-14 22:45:26

You could try draining the 'empties', merlot! grin

merlotgran Mon 11-Aug-14 22:48:40

If I do that I might have more than a missing fillling.

IBS springs to mind hmm

papaoscar Mon 11-Aug-14 23:55:33

Good news from Grabbits, Laydees! Fresh supplies of Sheepshaggers and Leg Overs (Fine old beers, of course!) arrived with the mail. Just right for a quick stiffener after all those steamy doings. Thought occurred to me in the mud bath that perhaps Bo could be persuaded to permit a micro-brewery and/or mini-distillery to open up adjacent to the hostelry. After all, the Ladies has got all the pipework in already. Any ideas for names for the brews?

boheminan Tue 12-Aug-14 18:02:38

I have it on good authority that there was a misprint on Grabbits beer advertisement and they haven't got Sheepshaggers and Leg Overs but do have a few cheap haggis left over from their January Sale. Sorry to disappoint you papaoscargrin

Ha-ha! Good one Bo. I love this pub [well, it's a good job that I do as I have been banned from The Drunken Duck for a few months now.]
Am off alchohol for a while so it's just an ornage juice for me tonight please [but stick a double gin in it won't you?]
That Cornish pastie made in Devon was horrible!I shall go back to sausage rolls.
