Feel quite shocked!

Most of our nuisance calls come from abroad, so TFS is no use. I too have no option but to answer when it says withheld, because my sister and our youngest son also come up as withheld.

kitty have you joined the Telephone Preference Service? Since joining I get very few unsolicited calls, apart from the odd overseas one.

It is so unfair to withhold the number! I 've posted before that some important people (in my life) withhold their number so I have no option but to answer! Our mobiles get a very unreliable signal in our house so are not an option!

I had the same response last week when I told a cold caller, no thank you, his reply was F... Off. They obviously feel very brave because they know the number is withheld angry

I very often just bother answering my phone!

I know that if it is either family or friends and it is an important call they will ring the mobile !

I usually ask 'Who's calling?' then I get the gist of what the spiel's going to be and say, loudly 'No thank you!' and put the phone down.

They are annoying, but try not to get into a conversation. I just say no and then ring off.

So annoying aren't they. I do the same as you usually and say "she is not available" though sometimes I ask them to hold the line and then put the phone down next to a very loudly playing radio with music on!
If his call was being recorded, he will be in trouble!
Just put it out of your mind. When we are in a run of these calls, sometimes I wait for the answer phone to click in and then call back if it is a friend/relative after all.

I had yet another one if those irritating phone calls today. We seem to get them at around the same time of day at the moment. Anyway in case it was family (there's a lot going on here at present) I took up the phone and said hallo.
After a short gap which gave me a clue that it wasnt family a male voice on the other end asked to speak to Mrs Goldengirl. I said she wasn't available and was about to put the phone down when he asked why not. I repeated that she wasn't available and he quickly said what is she doing then. I told him it was none of his business and as i was putting the phone down he said rather loudly F* you and rang off! I admit to being quite shocked - which is unusual for me. Perhaps he was having a bad day!

The conversation if you can call it that took much less time than its taken me to write it and each time he asked his questions very quickly. I tried 1471 but surprise surprise the number was withheld. If there had been a number I would have asked to speak to a manager.

And then a police officer turned up...........but that saga is on another thread. What a couple of days it's been shock
