Overcast again here - hopefully it'll get put hot again as it did yesterday. Weather forecast says it should so hopefully....... (Says it should get breezier too)

Morning Mick and All.

Overcast in the Thames Valley. Thunder rumbling away in the background.

Well today is the last morning of the 5 day visit from my niece and great nephew. All has gone well but I can't wait for peace and quiet to descend and no more questions like, what are we having for lunch ?

I realise many people are lonely and would only be too grateful for company, so I hold back on my complaining.

Morning all.
Looks like rain here in N.Kent. Forecast says showers throughout the county. Hope we miss them as DH going to two of his gardening jobs today.

Lovely sunny morning up here in Northumbria. Off to visit Linesfarne as soon as we've checked the tide tables to see if it's safe to drive across the causeway.

Sunny and warm at present in NE Cheshire. So much to do today - find space in my luggage for all the stuff I ironed yesterday. Off tomorrow.

AlieOxon Mon 28-Jul-14 09:02:32

Mornin' all.
Cloudy but clearing.
Saw my daughter in Oxford yesterday. The big thing about what has happened recently is that I am having grave doubts about whether I want to go on living where I am - and at the moment I cannot sell my house.

I feel in limbo!

it's been raining here in North Devon, but at least the air seems a bit fresher.

Lona Mon 28-Jul-14 09:07:05

After a lovely cool evening last night, it's back to blazing sunshine.
Still feeling a bit tired after entertaining dgd for most of the weekend, but it was worth it smile

Have a good trip anno sunshine

There have been flash floods in NW London but luckily the heavy rain has now stopped. It was the unusual sound of rain battering against the window which woke me at 8am today. At least it is a bit fresher.

MiniMouse Mon 28-Jul-14 10:01:21

Morning all, Floods down here (Sussex), though we've escaped them. Trains disrupted, roads flooded . . . Still, it means we won't have to water the garden later smile

Good morning all, it's another bright and sunny morning here in Northumberland. We had some rain yesterday. I've got piles of ironing to do today, if I can summon up enough enthusiasm. tbhmm

Lovely day - slightly overcast but pleasantly hot.

Glad it's not too hot, as today will be spent emptying cupboards, vacuuming inside them, taking down and washing curtains, trying to move furniture about etc. - we have black carpet beetle and the guy with the spray is coming on Weds. All the clearing the decks needs to be done today as we have GC here all day tomorrow. I think we will be sweating by the time we have it all done! Not looking forward to it. Tinkering on Gnet rather then getting on with it!

Galen Mon 28-Jul-14 11:02:20

Pleasant here, some cloud no rain forecast

kittylester Mon 28-Jul-14 11:09:40

Good morning!

Lovely bright start in North Leicestershire but I am currently in Derby having dropped off DD2 and her children with DD s 1and 3 and their children [watch out Ticknall!!] as they are going fruit picking and for a picnic! I'm going back home to supervise the gardener and then to sit in the sun without feeling I should be doing something! brew

Enjoy your days everyone sunshine

harrigran Mon 28-Jul-14 11:20:25

Good morning, sunny here in Cumbria but a bit fresher than the last five days.
I should be doing jobs but keep getting distracted by the firemen, the station is next door and I keep seeing these fit men, in their uniforms, putting their hoses out to dry grin

Mishap Mon 28-Jul-14 11:27:54

Harri - I should put on your shades - I am sure that all this excitement is not at all good for you.

HollyDaze Mon 28-Jul-14 11:42:49

Thick, patchy cloud here and cooler with the odd showers - which is nice!

AlieOxon Mon 28-Jul-14 12:55:58

Send the odd shower here please!

NanKate Mon 28-Jul-14 14:44:25

Alie this is always a bad time for house selling It should pick up in the Autumn.

AlieOxon Mon 28-Jul-14 18:50:42

Don't know if you have seen any of my threads about my neighbours, the ones who are neglecting their house? This is the problem, and frankly if I came to look at my house at present. I wouldn't buy it!
The estate agent I asked for a valuation said it was practically unsaleable.

(A semi with the other half appearing derelict, with broken windows, and the roof beginning to look really bad at the back? No way.)

annodomini Mon 28-Jul-14 18:59:01

I've just watered my pots and some precious plants, so it's sure to rain tonight.
