Morning Mick and all. It was like a huge firework display at midnight here on the SE Hampshire coast. The storm must have been directly overhead as the flashes were continuous, as was the thunder. It was very hot and humid followed by torrential rain. It feels fresher this morning but it is still forecast to be hot and humid again. Not my favourite weather.

Another quiet day beckons, following all the advice in the press. We shall watch the Tour de France this afternoon and drink lots of water.

Happy days everyone! sunshine

Morning All and Mick.

Packing up and going home after a lovely week in the New Forest.

I still love getting back home and opening up our stable front door and looking out over the Thames Valley. smile

Morning all. A windy night. But no thunder yet in NE Cheshire. Bright and still very windy. Trees tossing madly.

A little white cloud in East Sussex. Saw some lightening during the night but a long way away. No rain. It's very hot already. Better get the washing done.
I made nine Yorkshire buttons yesterday and am very pleased with them.

Good morning to everyone from near Brighton

Got woken at 2am by the thunder - the lightening was absolutely spectacular, and the rain tropical. I did expect to see roast lamb or beef on my walk this morning but all was well. The dog was fearful so I wonder how the sheep, cows and horses were?

Steam is now raising in the hot sun to set off another lot of storms more than likely.

The skylark was on the ground as I walked past this morning sounding an alarm presumably to his young but I couldn't see any, even he is difficult to spot except his buff breast

Good morning from the Fens. Very stormy night. Both dogs shaking like leaves so they spent most of the night in our bed!!

Very hot and humid now. I've just spotted the cat strutting across the yard with a dead rat so no scardey cat, that one!!

Morning all
Rain in the night in N.Kent but storm could only be seen and heard in the distance. It's now overcast and humid.

Good morning all, it's a bit windy here and we had a bit of a shower in the early morning, but apart from that it's a lovely sunny start to the day.

Lazy day for me although I'm learning to do band exercises, so I might do some in the cool of the dining room. hmm

Hi from Milton Keynes. Wonderful storm last night. Woken about 2am by almighty clap of ear-splitting thunder! Watched huge forks and flashes of lightening for about 15 mins. We then went back to bed but I was woken again at 5am by bright flashes.
Good drink for the garden but some poor plants beaten down and as dgd here today we have to delay our usual trip to feed the ducks as it's still raining and thundering on and off.

Afternoon all, much pleasanter temperature in the south of Portugal today. It has been very hot and humid but today is fresher and the temperature so far is still the right side of 30 C.
I don't really like air conditioning but we have it in the studio apartment and for the last two days have shut all the doors and shutters and put it on at mid-day and left it on till half eleven at night. Good job the Tour de France is on. grin
