Himself loves their full fat greek yog, salamis .

We lived a miserable existence on hydrogenated crap spread, now enjoy [him] not me beef, and all the noughties.

Him full fat milk, me zero, but I prefer the taste and I hope it tops up my calcuim levels, tho perhaps not.

While we don't want to become alchies, a drop of the hard stuff or a glass of wine does help to relax us, and this relaxation is good for us.I certainly won't stop. This is one form of advertising that I can resist!

Nanalogue that's my favourite too! The Nobilo Limited Release is lovely, but we only buy it when it's on offer. (Personally I prefer it to The Ned)

However I have recently discovered that the Lidl NZ Sauvignon Blanc at £5.89 is very good, much better then their French one.

My Great Aunt's DiL's family owned one of the distilleries in Scotland and had a crate of Glen........ delivered to her every Christmas. She never offered anyone a glass, so presumably drank the lot over the course of the year She lived until she was 99 and survived an accident (not drink related!!) when she was in her 90s, which involved almost 200 stitches in her face, head and body, so she did all right!

Sparky - When my DH was in a very stressful job he began to get chest pains. He went to his GP who said it was stress related and told him to have 'a couple of whiskies' in the evening. As he doesn't like whiskey, he substituted this for red wine or a couple of G&Ts, it helped him. I probably drink more that is good for me - my life has been (and still is) pretty difficult. OK some might say it's a crutch, well sometimes I need a crutch - there I've said it.

Yeah, leave us alone! Rose could you find me a quote that recommends Sauvignon Blanc please? Preferably NZ. Ta.

I am also fed up with being told what to eat and drink and what not to eat and drink - especially as the advice changes slightly less frequently than I change my socks. A wide variety and everything in moderation seems pretty much okay to me. I think governments do this - the one where I live does it too - in lieu of having to do something or admit something that really is their business.

DH and I share a bottle of red every day. I'm not much of a spirit drinker but if you try and get my wine off me you'd have a real battle on your hands Personally sparkygran I think it does you good to have a glass or two to unwind and you seem to have had a lot to cope with this year. Here have one of these and another and I will join you. P.S they are big glasses not little ones !

We're all with you sparky! I can't give you any lofty quotes, but we have a very close friend who is a GP (in the medical sense) and he says these guidelines are a "load of boll**ks", he and his DOH drink way more than the recommended (oops, nearly said 'dose') amount. I don't want to drink water and live on mung beans and tofu either! Life's too short. Hugs.
