agus everyone is allowed one duplicate thread before being hounded out of soops kitchen.
Galen The spots/rash have not itched. Dengue
is it possible to contract this on the west coast of Scotland?
I've seen malaria in Wales! Anything is possible, but probable? No!
soop I've just put a new picture on my profile of my four gc. It was a very rare occasion when my dd and dd and gc were all together for my birthday in June. Hopefully it'll happen again
I meant ds and dd
Simply the best LONA just like their GRAN/NAN/Grandma .
What are you ?
Whatever you are I will send some

Lona Lovely photo.
Can you get dengue fever here in the UK? Always slightly concerned about it when we go to NQ, as SIL's DGM has had it. Do hope he gets a diagnosis soon, soop.
Lovely photos, Lona, you must be very proud of them.
Don't worry about the misunderstanding, Agus, I did a few circles in my coracle and felt a bit dizzy (not unusual anyway) but arrived safely
Beautiful DGC Lona and I notice your pretty GDs have inherited your dimples so, no mistaking whose girls these are.
Hope you've got your land legs back Rose
Lovely photo, Lona
Fine, thank you Agus! A glass of
helped and a rest in the corner with Angus did the trick.
Thank you all, Nonu I'm their Nana/Nana Chrissy/Nana Banana!

Love the photo Lona
Hope you're feeling better today, soop, and Mr. Soop, of course.
Here's a jug of iced lime juice, and a bunch of mint for those who like a sprig or two in their glass
- very cooling.
Oooh, lovely, thanks ffinnochio
Lona your grandchildren are beautiful and very much like you. They have inherited your sunny
rosequartz I had to grin when I read of your going around in ever decreasing circles in your coracle. So happy that you eventually arrived at your destination.
Thanks, finnochio The iced juice sounds delicious. I can smell the mint.
It is such a beautiful day [yet again] in bonnie Kintyre. We have never seen such a flat sea. It appears to have stripes of pale turquoise and indigo running across it. A fishing boat went past not long ago, creating a perfect white wake.
So...MacSporran went to see the lady doctor at the practice. She took bloods to send back to the lab re Lyme disease. She said that the other doctor had possibly sent the bloods away a little too early [for that test]. If the problem started with a tic bite that kicked off an infection, the bloods won't produce a result until about now, if not, later. She looked at the photo that I took of MacS's inflamed lower back. She nodded! Then, she thinks, he may also be allergic to something or other. He has to take a Cetirizine tablet once a day. He must return next Friday. She stressed that the virus [?] will have knocked his immune system sideways. It will take time for his system to fully recover.
We went into Cambeltown today...thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow. Had a wee treat in the Royal and stopped to chat with folk that we meet up with from time to time. Rory...being the most important member of the household, was not amused. He was kept waiting for his usual one o'clock lunch. He's outside with MacS they are tidying the garden. It looks particularly lovely and colourful today. I shall make a pot of tea very shortly. Don't have one of bags flapjacks to complete the treat.
for poor old MacSporran, he has really had more than his fair share of discomfort with this bite/virus/infection.
soop me dear, I've left a lemon drizzle cake for you (I know you like it), to have with your
in the absence of flapjack.
I'm sure bags will drop some off sooner rather than later!
Dear Lona you sure know the way to my tummy. I bet the cake is so beautifully moist. I can almost taste it.
It is a humid and blustery day. Tiny white caplets on the waves. The sky appears to be trying to tell us that a storm is on the way. I rescued a stranded bumble bee and a moth. Took them to a well sheltered place of safety.
We went for the usual walk and when we returned, Rory was nowhere to be seen. MacS appeared flustered and went searching for him. Where was Rory? In the kennel, that's where. The very kennel in which he used to live. We had such a giggle. He popped his head out of the door and MacS told him that it was no longer good enough for him. Can you believe it?
Rory ambled in to the house, washed behind his ears and settled himself comfortably on the tartan rug [his] on the chaise [his]
Please may I have some cake and a
?
On top of everything else, I have no hot water this morning - and the cat has peed by my front door and it stinks!
It was so hot and humid in NW london last night that I had the fan on. I think that Tara thought that it would bite her so she laid in bed, pressed against my body and getting the full effect of the fan which was on the floor. She did not stay there long, back to her spot on the landing until the rain, thunder and lightening started so then back to the comfort of bed and mum.
Late morning we both sat outside on our respective chairs as it appeared to be cooler there with a light breeze.
I think that my bank think that I should be sectioned because this morning I was on the phone trying to explain to a lady who was laughing that I had tapped in my credit card number instead of debit card number to access on line banking. This will be debit card no.3 to arrive within as many weeks, they can barely keep up with me.
I will be retiring to a darkened bedroom until Christmas, bye.
The forecast today was for a heavy downpour between 2 and 4 otherwise a lovely sunny day. The downpour did arrive.....just in time for me to be leaving Asda to load up the car, lasted all of 10mins and I was soaked through. Sod's law!
Borrowing an idea from another thread re wine I am leaving a few bottles of both red and white and a selection of delicious cheeses. Please feel free to test as many as you like. I know a test is usually to swirl and spit but where's the fun in that?
My heart really goes out to McSporran Soop. Just wish they could discover soon what is going on and then help, him recover quickly.
Cold last night so I slept well. My bedroom runs from the front of the house to the back as does the sitting room. So if I open windows front and back I get a cool air stream.
The sun didn't shine here until about 1 pm.
I've been sitting out in it reading and trying to decide what to have for supper.
Have been shopping today [ grr, needs must]
Left JL to trek to M&S - complete power failure in M&S so no quick lunch and no food shopping! Assistant advised us there was a restaurant in JL!
So I shall be glad of a
first before testing the
and cheese. Thankyou.
Charleygirl, I think it is the heat, it does something to our little grey cells. Have a lie down on the chaise and I will bring you a cool drink.
Hot and sunny here now after a cloudy humid morning
