Hello dear Bellasnana The chemotherapy must sap your husband of his energy. I'm trusting that he will reap some benefit from the procedure and that he will remain focused on what must be the goal foremost in his mind; returning home to share his life with you. How is your sister-in-law? What a bloody awful time this is for you and the family. I'm sorry that you'll be alone for a week. If only I could spirit myself to Malta. We could enjoy the sunshine and a nice cooling glass of wine. MacS is the pianist. He loves his piano. He claims that he's losing his touch and is contemplating selling it to a family in the village. I shall do my utmost to dissuade him.

It has rained for much of the day. Tomorrow, our pals will be treating us to a lunchtime visit to the Seafood Cabin in Skipness...that's if it isn't raining. Should it do so, they have a plan B in mind.

Bellasnana that third round has come around quickly, although I don't suppose it feels like that for you and your DH. I hope he's managing to keep some energy after all his treatment.

Took DH into hospital at 7am for his third five-day stint at chemo. Bless him, he's been feeling a bit down in the dumps and was dreading going back in. It comes round too quickly

I've to take DD3 and her friend to the airport soon. They are off to Spain for a week so it is just going to be me, cat and dog at home.

Weather here is too darned hot! I'm melting. August in Malta is not to be recommended .

By the way, who is the pianist in the soop family? I love Chopin

soop Are you sure that it's not your web browser that's causing your problems? Especially in view of the fact that you've had pc problems in the last few days.

I also posted, at the back of two, on this thread in response to Charley's post about blood samples and it has disappeared too.

It was just to say that I am firmly convinced that the reason why blood samples take so long to return results or go missing at the lab, is that the technicians have a wee black pudding factory going, which takes up most of their time. DH has to go back to FVRH at Falkirk, a round trip of almost 40 miles, again on Friday for the results of the latest blood tests taken 10 days ago. We have no idea what these tests are for as the nurse who took the bloods had been told by the 'Geriatric' Consultant to do it but not why. For this visit to be successful it requires two elements to come together - 1) the Doctor to be there and 2) the results to be there - so I am not terribly hopeful.

Hello Crafting have only just read your message. It's good to have you back. I'm about to mount my bike. I shall start off with a 15 minute spin and then take to my armchair.

Something strange is going on. I posted a long message to the kitcheners not long ago ago but it has disappeared. I shall recap in a moment. Also, not only can I not upload photos but I'm told that I cannot contact GN for assistance. Message read...Windows Internet Explorer could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed. Please can someone alert HQ...I'm running short of expletives and that wouldn't be good for my blood pressure.

The surgery rang MacS on Friday afternoon because the GP wished to discuss the latest blood test results. Well, we are none the wiser. 'Inflammatory markers' on the high side but not alarmingly so. Red blood cell count low but again not hugely so. The scar at the base of MacS's spine has healed and measures 2.5". His torso has retained a few wee spots. His head and face are still blotchy. He feels much better. GP has still not ruled out an infected tick bite. Numbers of cases in Scotland have increased dramatically over the summer months. So...you've guessed it, another blood sample to be sent away in one month's time. In the meantime, MacS will have a lump on his neck looked at. Appointment is one week on Friday. Said lump could well be a cyst. Poor doctor is befuddled. MacS too but is, as usual, in good spirits.

Sorry Soop been away for a few days and missed your birthday. Belated birthday wishes from me and . Glad you had a good day. How's the exercise bike going - have you worked off the fish and chips yet? So sorry to hear about your neighbours, that is so sad.

Hope you have good news of MacS' blood results.

I've been skimming through the postings trying to catch up on what my fellow kitcheners have been up to and was horrified when I got to Charliegirl's post and started to read about the two bullying brothers who live nearby and their visiting friend who are terrorising the neighbourhood. I was puzzled to see rosequartz post about the vet as I was thinking a quick phone call to the police would be more appropriate. Having now read the posts again I realise the culprits are of the four legged variety!

I do hope that there is some positive news this afternoon soop as MacSporran has been waiting patiently for many weeks in some degree of pain as well as donating many armfuls of blood.

Tried again to upload the images. MiceElf you really need to distance yourself from my expletives. They are truly naughty. It must have been a treat having the wee puss join you in the garden. I'm glad that she wasn't a stray. I worry needlessly when any cat strolls through our garden. Tortoiseshell (Rory's daughter) is different. She knows that a meal will appear, as if by magic, whenever she triggers the sensor outside the kitchen door. She know that to visit after bedtime is a no-no. Her routine visit is usually around nine o'clock. When I look through the window she jumps down from the kennel roof (Rory's ex-upmarket cabin) and waits under a hydrangea bush. I talk to her as I place her supper in the usual spot. She sometimes makes wee sounds as I do so. Then I say goodnight and close the door. She immediately springs back on top of the kennel roof and tucks in. Mother cat appears less often. When the weather changes for the worse, she too will have supper alongside Tortoiseshell. In the meantime she caters for herself.

Soop! I can't imagine you using unmaidenly language, let alone ungrandnetterly language. But if McS sighs, it must be rather startling.

I'll be thinking of you this afternoon, I do hope that at long last you get some definitive answers.

While I was 'gardening' this morning ( really just sort of tidying up some of the mess) a beautiful little puss came to join me. She has a smart red collar so is obviously someone's precious, but I enjoyed her company as she tried her hardest to catch the goldfish through the mesh over the pond. All she achieved were two very wet paws.
