To nap or not to nap?

I keep reading articles in the media about the dangers of having a nap during the day and then articles about how good it is for you and how bad sleep deprivation is. If I'm at home in the afternoon and sitting down, whatever I'm doing, I end up asleep. Should I worry? Is it normal?

I don't often nap but I just listen to my body and if I need one, I give in. This usually happens though if I have had a broken nights sleep as I need 7 hours.

I find now though that if I sit down to read a book I inevitably drop off. Also the 10/15 min. shut eye works and I feel refreshed.

I always have a doze (still aware slightly of what is going on) if I sit and read for any length of time. I love just being able to nap for a bit when I want to. Mind you I can sleep quite well at night too! Maybe I 'm just lazy.....yawn, all this typing is wearing me out grin

We usually sit down after lunch and I tend to read but often doze off for a bit I don't mind as I think I must need it and always sleep well (well with the very odd exception) at night.

We like to watch the lunch time news, but I never see the last 10 minutes of this, as I have 'dropped off', bright as a button 20 minutes later, when the other half is well away and will be for another hour. If there is no music or television, I do not fall asleep!
