You might put it the other way and say that Costa Rica could only draw with England! Or that England held CR to a goalless draw. It's all a matter of spin. However, I do agree with you about the adverse effect of the predominance of foreign players in the Premiership. The press and fans are so illogical - they praise English clubs to the skies if they do well in Europe and then lambast the England team that has to be scraped together from the diminishing numbers of eligible players.

Well there it is then. England could only draw with Costa Rica. They need a good shake up. Too many foreign players in the premier league. Not enough home grown talent to put a decent team together. Something in English fotball has to change. I used to love football, followed Carlisle United all my life. I'm going off the game at a rate of knots. I think I'll have to change sports. Maybe cricket? confused

Hate the game.... I cannot believe we have to suffer wall to wall football matches and post mortems, certain amount of strain in our household at the present. I will be so pleased when it finishes. Sorry England was beaten so early though. What a shame!!!!!
However I get a bit more time to see what everyone up to on GN.

Someone I was talking to last week when we were discussing rugby and football used the word "respect" as in it is very rare in rugby for a player to challenge the referee over a call, but it happens a lot in football. I think she has a good point.

Also rugby players don't seem to feel the need to spit!

Cant stand football but the culture that surrounds it is worse than the game.

You can join my team any time sparky there are not enough words in the vocabulary to cover my views about football, the over paid prima donnas that play it, and the so called fans! A documentary last week left me.........

Now Rugby, is a different matter.............

I have already posted about my attitude/thoughts on football, including the players and the fans.

However, I do feel sorry for some of the struggling local pubs whose income would have been boosted if England (*NOT "ENGERLAND" NO SUCH COUNTRY EXISTS!) had progressed.

Is there anyone out there besides myself who has no interest whatsoever in the "World Cup" - I am going to go one step further and say "I can`t bear football" and that`s me being polite
