Lovely day here, weatherwise, but came down at 5.30am to find that one of the living room doors had decided to fall off! When the new carpet was fitted a couple of months ago, they had to remove 3 doors to shave some off the bottom, and that particular door`s not been right since, gradually getting stiffer and stiffer, obviously decided to give up the ghost during the night. Anyway, number one son came and got it back on again, but methinks we`ll need a new door very soon.

Warm and sunny in NI

harrigran Sun 22-Jun-14 10:18:04

Good morning, cloudy here and no sun yet. Off to see GC for a bit of light relief.

annodomini Sun 22-Jun-14 09:55:53

kitty, if anyone can deal with the 'idiot', I'm sure you can. Good luck. Have a happy day.

suebailey1 Sun 22-Jun-14 09:42:28

Looks like another dry day, quite warm but a bit cloudy here in Melton Mowbray. Its DH's birthday today, he is 68 and still wearing the same size jeans as when I met him 36 years ago. He still goes barefoot most of the time and still up to date with his Indie music like the old hippy he is. he is a bit grumpier than he used to be and has several bees in his bonnet - James Dyson, Rupert Murdoch, signage generally etc etc but essentially he is a funny, sexy man. Taking him for a posh lunch today.

kittylester Sun 22-Jun-14 09:22:42

Just been to see ds and he seems fine and is going to gave a lazy day. Ivevtold him to text me hourly!!

Now, only the Idiot to deal with!! grin

NfkDumpling Sun 22-Jun-14 09:20:15

Overcast at the moment but the forecast says it should brighten later. Hope so, I'm on tea duty at our town's open gardens day.

Ariadne Sun 22-Jun-14 09:19:34

when grin

Never mind cuckoos and magpies - it's ** seagulls that wake me up now all the windows are open. They are so loud, and always seem to be squabbling. We are about ten minutes from the sea, but they always seem to start the day up here!

annodomini Sun 22-Jun-14 09:17:24

Sunny morning here. I am woken every morning by jackdaws of which there is a large flock in Poynton. There are also rowdy rooks and crows. The big corvids discourage the small birds which is a pity but there's not much I can do about it.

Lona Sun 22-Jun-14 09:12:32

Oh when That made me giggle grin little monkeys! (Oops, am I not allowed to say that?)

whenim64 Sun 22-Jun-14 09:09:32

Got my two grandsons to stay the night, too. At 8.30, I opened the sitting rooms curtains before making breakfast whilst they were snapping photos of the dog on my iPad. Heard much giggling and a little voice said 'let's put it on YouTube hahahaha!' Good job I looked........a video of me, looking like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards, in nightie and dressing gown. They know where the icons are to click on to YouTube. In panic, I asked if I could watch it again, deleted it and explained children are not allowed to put anything on YouTube, let alone videos that nanas and parents haven't taken. Little rascals! They thought it was hilarious grin

AlieOxon Sun 22-Jun-14 09:08:19

Yes Agus - I also have magpies...very noisy and either two or three young ones just fledged. I feel like they have taken over the garden!

Aka Sun 22-Jun-14 09:03:15

Any GNetters living near the A64? Better get down there PDQ and take your knives, forks, Yorkshire puddings, etc as the police attempt to clear up a giant spill of Instant Mash!!

NanKate Sun 22-Jun-14 08:48:43

Had the 2grandsons for the weekend - full on fun but it is only 8.48 and feels like midday! Will have a nap when they go after lunch. smile

Agus Sun 22-Jun-14 08:46:18

Another sunny day. This is wonderful. But it is magpies that are wakening me in the morning. Right outside our bedroom window. I could cheerfully strangle them!

Hope iit's not another stroke kitty. Your poor DS

As for the 'idiot' ignore, ignore! If he is anything like the idiot we have to put up with, it's like talking to a brick wall! Hope he doesn't turn up.

Dragonfly1 Sun 22-Jun-14 08:43:23

Morning from s Staffs; lots of sunshine here - and I'm stuck indoors most of the day on a course! How is that fair? Kitty I hope your son is ok, enjoy the Thanksgiving, hope all goes well.

AlieOxon Sun 22-Jun-14 08:37:21

Mornin ' all.
I wish there was a cuckoo here to shut up....looks like another hot day.

I finally met my greatgrandson yesterday! 4 weeks old - and very fast asleep.
Yes, I did get to hold him.

Nelliemoser Sun 22-Jun-14 08:18:25

Good morning all! I was forced out of bed earlier than I would have liked by the bleeping of my empty phone battery.
I am now about to have a brew and some breakfast. .

Lona Sun 22-Jun-14 08:07:07

Good morning everyone. It looks like a bright start to a hopefully, sunny day.
There's a 'party in the park' happening down by the river, with lots of stuff going on, so I do hope it's a success.

kitty I hope your ds is ok, what a worry for you.
Feel free to take out your stress on the 'idiot', just don't let anyone hear you!

Have a good day sunshine

PRINTMISS Sun 22-Jun-14 08:05:46

Good morning everyone, and again a beautiful morning here on the south coast. I just wonder if the pigeons ever get sore throats - they seem to go on and on and on..........all day, it is odd however, because I have found as soon as I happen to look at the one which is doing all the cooing, the cooing stops, they seem to know! Anyway, hope your DS1 is well kitty, and you all enjoy your days.

Mamie Sun 22-Jun-14 07:52:46

Kitty, I think the cuckoo shortage manifests itself here in the fact that there is only one, who has been plaintively cuckooing all day since March. At the moment it is light here until 11pm which doesn't help.
Have a lovely day with your family and hope your DS is OK.
sunshine

hildajenniJ Sun 22-Jun-14 07:48:41

Good morning all . It's bright, sunny and already quite warm here in Northumberland. I'm waiting for a load of logs to be delivered in readiess for winter.

kittylester Sun 22-Jun-14 07:48:00

Mamie, we have a cuckoo clock that only plays when it is light. At thus time of year it sings from five o'clock which seems to be a signal for every blooming pigeon in the area to coo outside out bedroom window!

kittylester Sun 22-Jun-14 07:44:31

Good morning all!

Lovely bright, sunny and warm start to the day here in North Leicestershire. I hope it is the same in Hemel Hempstead as it's DGD4's Thanksgiving Service today.

I'm slightly worried as DS1 just rang to say that he was ill in the night and was scared he was having another stroke. He seems ok but won't be going to HH with us. We will call in to see him on the way.

My other worry us that the Idiot will turn up and I will not be allowed to bop him! grin

Enjoy your days everyone sunshine

Mamie Sun 22-Jun-14 07:34:45

Another perfect morning in Normandy. But I am going to kill that cuckoo if it doesn't shut up soon.
