Has anyone else picked up on tonight`s Archers a possible liaison between Elizabeth and Roy? I was picking up all sorts of signals and worst of all it is being encouraged by Haley!! Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa surely not nice Roy

Mishap Thu 26-Jun-14 14:31:29

Oh yes - definitely pregnant - and her heart condition will worsen and she will die. This is eastenders on the radio now - no possibility of anything vaguely resembling real life any more. Melodrama rules!

Scriptwriters - are you listening!!!??? Bring back the everyday story of country folk!

chloe1984 Thu 26-Jun-14 14:57:33

I think Roy will become infatuated with Lizzie and will turn into a " bunny boiler" after being spurned he will barricade Lizzie himself and the two children into Lower Loxley Hall and will refuse to release them. After a very tense stand off, his best friend Will is brought in to diffuse the situation by trying to talk him down. This doesn't work so Will shoots Roy and Lizzie. Jill then moves into Lower Loxley to look after the children. Hayley will probably marry Tom who will have returned to support the Archer clan and once again things will settle down in Ambridge to be an everyday story of country folk.........

Can't wait for Sunday morning and the next roll-out of the Archenders saga. Perhaps some Walford familiars will turn up for a day or two in the country to add a bit of light relief to the proceedings?

Anne58 Thu 26-Jun-14 15:59:23

Yes, Roy is shown as a decent chap, but wasn't it him who made racist attacks on Usha years ago?

annodomini Thu 26-Jun-14 17:05:06

Roy got into bad company when there was that attack on Usha. Now he must be having a midlife crisis.

NfkDumpling Thu 26-Jun-14 17:59:19

Oh, I'd forgotten that. Is he old enough for a mid life crisis?

suzied Thu 26-Jun-14 18:03:17

What ever happened to Usha. We don't hear much of her these days. Who is Charlie going to get involved with? Adam?

NfkDumpling Thu 26-Jun-14 18:15:48

Now there's a thought!

sparkygran Thu 26-Jun-14 18:17:50

Funny how one forgets so much you are right phoenix he was involved in that racist attack on Usha. . Not always likeable Roy he has had his moments but of recent times he has settled down to domesticity so of course he is ripe for a juicy storyline. Like some of the imaginary storylines you have all thought up particularly yours chloe1984.cupcake

annodomini Thu 26-Jun-14 18:28:17

All those 'younger' characters - the Grundy sons, Elizabeth, Roy and Haley etc - are becoming middle aged and the older ones like Tony are becoming grouchy old curmudgeons.

Iam64 Fri 27-Jun-14 08:11:41

I enjoyed the plots outlined in various posts above, but I'm disappointed with the Roy and Lizzie story line. Am I wrong, isn't it out of character for him, and is she desperate enough to get involved with someone who had a baby with her niece, a baby with his current partner, who is caring for her cousin's child etc etc. Standards!

Nelliemoser Fri 27-Jun-14 22:58:43

Well in Roy's defence, the attack on Usha was with some other lads when he was a teenager and young people do get caught up in bad behaviour which they later really regret. We have to give him a bit of slack there.

As for the, so far, one night stand it was Elizabeth who walked into Roy's tent. I wonder if that story line will just fade and die or sit as a sleeper for when they need another story.

We have not heard anything more of Tony and Pat's Grandson also John Archer by their late son John and Sharon. Not a mention!

Off to a good start with the Omnibus this morning...How do you feel this morning, Elizabeth? ...nudge, nudge, wink, wink! Followed by all sorts of leading and embarrassing questions...this could get nasty...now lymph nodes are up...talk of isolation...is it Roy?...no, its a posh ladie's horse...

papaoscar Sun 29-Jun-14 11:05:02

Now its worries about soldier boy Dan...can Mum cope...suddenly the stranglers arrive..Rob & Helen are interviewing each other for the shop job...vicar's muscled in.. somebody's effigy has been burnt...is it poor old Linda?...Tony too tired to care...Jazzer too busy with social life to do more work on Tony's pigs...just in time for pudding, Fallon, being lined for some after-eights perhaps before clubbing, she sounds uncertain...back to Rob, in-depth bedroom discussion about Tina (who she?). Fallon back home in bed...alone...what went wrong?...checked his face-book page, didn't like what she saw, drinking games...beginning to loose interest...

sparkygran Mon 30-Jun-14 18:23:22

Oh dear oh dear what tangled webs they weave - paying attention to world news re Iraq etc am worried for Shula and DS Dan it could be entirely possible for script writers to parachute him into somewhere troubled

Nanabelle Thu 10-Jul-14 14:59:50

Roy and Elizabeth storyline dropped for a bit. As for Peggy feeling lonely, she is surrounded by 4 generations of family - some of us would be thankful for one family member living close by. (I have not had family near since 1971). My lovely gd is only over the water (Solent) but it is 1.5 hours door to door.
Do hope The Road is not built though. That story lone should run for months knowing Councils and Planners!

Mishap Thu 10-Jul-14 19:44:35

If you look at the bit in the Radio Times that gives a hint about the following week's Archers I am sure the bad boy Roy story unfortunately has more mileage in it - yawn.

Nelliemoser Fri 11-Jul-14 07:31:50

* mishap* I always read the synopsis for the following week as soon as the RT arrives ! They never give much away though.

sparkygran Fri 11-Jul-14 08:26:03

Thought this week`s RT did though "Freddie sees something he shouldn`t" must be on tonight`s edition. Love a bit of havoc in perfect Lower Locksley

Mishap Fri 11-Jul-14 08:51:29

Lizzie and Roy in flagrante - I can't wait to see how she explains that one away.

chloe1984 Fri 11-Jul-14 09:51:16

Oh wow will have to subscribe to the RT now......can't wait to hear what happens when Helen meets Rob's parents or will she?

Anne58 Fri 11-Jul-14 09:55:22

I expect that Freddie will catch them kissing, rather than anything too racy!

It's so obvious that Rob is not a nice chap, but they are dragging it out somewhat.

grumppa Fri 11-Jul-14 09:56:13

Freddie May just see a pregnancy testing kit.

sparkygran Fri 11-Jul-14 11:48:01

Oh that would be just great grumpa

papaoscar Sun 13-Jul-14 21:21:30

Will Hayley catch Elizabeth and Roy cementing their union back-stage at the forthcoming Lox Fest? Will Tony's new bull measure up? Will Helen the Gullible launch a thousand platitudes in support of the shifty Rob at the big family dinner? Will his farming parents be as slippery as he is? Will the proposed super-digester be big enough to cope with Brian's soaring ego and Jennifer's mountain of pretension? And what exactly is robotic milking? Does it involve electric cows? Can't wait to find out!
