Update on Clive

For those interested parties. Clive was returned to us 5 days ago and has somehow changed sex. She is now called Thistle. She may have been Thistle all along. I was just going by her belly button and where her penis should have been.

Anyway, the lovely guy who nursed her back to health from a 220g sick baby to an almost 800gm teenager brought her back to our garden complete with hedgehog house, Goats milk and meal worms (dried) hay, straw and sawdust.

He proceeded to dig a hole to half bury the house in (it also has a pitched roof and is hinged - posh) popped the house into the hole, lined it with sawdust, straw and hay. He left a bag of hay from her carry box so that she can replenish. I have continued to put mealworms out nightly and give her the goats milk. We have heard scuffling in the undergrowth at nights. I have checked her every afternoon and she is soundly asleep. As a female she will probably stay in this 'nest'.

I am going to rehome 2 baby hedgehogs in the Autumn. These were born at his home from a blind father (9 years old and in captivity because of his blindness) and a rescued female. They will be ready to hibernate so will come with homes.
