I'm not sure I've spelt that correctly (it doesn't look right anyway) but it gives the gist: who were your heartthrobs and has it changed over the years?

Mine were:

Clint Eastwood (in his Rawhide and spaghetti western days)
Steve McQueen

and, oddly enough

David Bowie

Now I have developed a soft spot for David Dimbleby!

That makes me think of the film A Summer Place, and the gorgeous Troy Donahue, wonder what happened to him?

My DH loved Sandra Dee

I remember Kay Kendall I think she had lovely red hair ? She was in that iconic film that I can't remember the name of about the London to Brighton car race.

FOr this old geezer - it was Kay Kendall...

Now I have a rather soft (sob) spot for Sarah Alexander. (Last seen as Jonathan Creek's wife.)

NanKate Sat 14-Jun-14 21:30:00

Kenneth More
Ian Bannen (Shakespearan actor)
Elvis of course (did you know he was a twin but his brother died?)

And now

Chris Packham (Springwatch)
Professor Brian Cox

Robert Horton (wasn't his horse called Topaz?), Robert Fuller and Adam Faith. More recently - Sean Bean - when he was in Sharp, Alan Rickman and there's something about Phillip Glenister too - even if his hair is receding.

I have mentioned on here before that as a child, my sister (who is now in her 50s), used to blush when Dickie Henderson came on TV!

joannapiano Sat 14-Jun-14 16:35:28

When DD1 was under 5, she had a big crush on Brian Cant from Playschool.
She used to blush whenever he came on!
(Won't remind her of this!)

Thanks KatyK I had never heard of him, now I know why, as when that was on tv...... we didn't have a tv to watch.

This is going back a bit.... I had a huge crush on an American actor called Larry Parks in the 1950's. He played the part of Al Jolson in "The Jolson story" and "Jolson sings again". For years I had photos of him in my school desk and in my bedroom. He was incredibly handsome.
These days I drool over Matt Damon, and also Michael French of Casualty and EastEnders. blush

goldengirl Fri 13-Jun-14 19:50:37

Richard Chamberlain, Pernell Roberts (Adam in Bonanza), David Soul.

Hi cross stitch I must have seen Saul Rose at some point (with the Watersons) but can't remember. I did once see all the Lakemans, with Kate Rusby and Kathryn Roberts, in Safeway, which is now Morrison's, in Tavistock. Jim Causley has a most beguiling voice but is, I think, not in the running for heartthrob.

KatyK Fri 13-Jun-14 17:27:37

I forgot one - James Martin TV chef grin

HMHNanna Fri 13-Jun-14 17:04:04

Elvis then ( 60's + 70's ) now Tom Cruise

crossstitchgill Fri 13-Jun-14 14:29:59

rubysong, Jon Boden is one of them. Also Saul Rose and Seth Lakeman.

KatyK Fri 13-Jun-14 13:55:41

Roses - Robert Horton played Flint McCullough in Wagon Train. There was certainly something about him. He is still with us I believe.

Anniebach Fri 13-Jun-14 13:27:31

Montgomery Cliff. Robert Mitchum, Sinatra. Gregory Peck. David Essex.

For really serious lusting - Alan Rickman and Denzil Washington

rosesarered Fri 13-Jun-14 13:26:56

Who is the very popular Robert Horton?

KatyK Fri 13-Jun-14 13:26:17

Holly - he did. It was a chance meeting. I was shopping in town. I was struggling along with 2 bags of groceries. I walked past a cinema and there were lots of people standing about and a red carpet had been laid, so I thought I would just see who was arriving. Then a limo drove up and out got DAVID SOUL!!! I absolutely loved him at the time. He shook hands with everyone who was standing nearby including me. He was gorgeous. I had to go back to work and couldn't concentrate all afternoon grin All the ladies in the office were jealous.
