I'm not sure I've spelt that correctly (it doesn't look right anyway) but it gives the gist: who were your heartthrobs and has it changed over the years?

Mine were:

Clint Eastwood (in his Rawhide and spaghetti western days)
Steve McQueen

and, oddly enough

David Bowie

Now I have developed a soft spot for David Dimbleby!

I forgot one - James Martin TV chef grin

Hi cross stitch I must have seen Saul Rose at some point (with the Watersons) but can't remember. I did once see all the Lakemans, with Kate Rusby and Kathryn Roberts, in Safeway, which is now Morrison's, in Tavistock. Jim Causley has a most beguiling voice but is, I think, not in the running for heartthrob.

Richard Chamberlain, Pernell Roberts (Adam in Bonanza), David Soul.

This is going back a bit.... I had a huge crush on an American actor called Larry Parks in the 1950's. He played the part of Al Jolson in "The Jolson story" and "Jolson sings again". For years I had photos of him in my school desk and in my bedroom. He was incredibly handsome.
These days I drool over Matt Damon, and also Michael French of Casualty and EastEnders. blush

James Stewart, Danny Kaye, Steve Martin, Lew Hoad, Tom Conti.

All the ladies in the office were jealous.

Thanks KatyK I had never heard of him, now I know why, as when that was on tv...... we didn't have a tv to watch.

rosesarered Sat 14-Jun-14 16:19:47

I remember liking Eric Burden [The Animals], can't think why.hmm

When DD1 was under 5, she had a big crush on Brian Cant from Playschool.
She used to blush whenever he came on!
(Won't remind her of this!)

KatyK Sat 14-Jun-14 16:39:18

I have mentioned on here before that as a child, my sister (who is now in her 50s), used to blush when Dickie Henderson came on TV!

rosesarered Sat 14-Jun-14 16:46:58

Heehee grin

Robert Horton (wasn't his horse called Topaz?), Robert Fuller and Adam Faith. More recently - Sean Bean - when he was in Sharp, Alan Rickman and there's something about Phillip Glenister too - even if his hair is receding.

NanKate Sat 14-Jun-14 21:30:00

Kenneth More
Ian Bannen (Shakespearan actor)
Elvis of course (did you know he was a twin but his brother died?)

And now

Chris Packham (Springwatch)
Professor Brian Cox

FOr this old geezer - it was Kay Kendall...

Now I have a rather soft (sob) spot for Sarah Alexander. (Last seen as Jonathan Creek's wife.)

NanKate Sun 15-Jun-14 07:23:09

I remember Kay Kendall I think she had lovely red hair ? She was in that iconic film that I can't remember the name of about the London to Brighton car race.

grumppa Sun 15-Jun-14 07:26:40

Genevieve was the film.

KatyK Sun 15-Jun-14 11:22:55

My DH loved Sandra Dee

That makes me think of the film A Summer Place, and the gorgeous Troy Donahue, wonder what happened to him?

HollyDaze Sun 15-Jun-14 21:34:55

joannapiano - when my daughter was about 10, she had a crush on Edward Woodward when he was in The Equalizer.

kittylester Mon 16-Jun-14 05:34:39

Billy Fury, George Chakiris, Scott Engel, Paul MacCartney, Paul Jones.

Nowadays: Richard Armitage, Alan Rickman, Gary Barlow, Olly Murs!

Soutra Mon 16-Jun-14 08:18:23

Long long ago Russ Conway (!) and Richard Chamberlain. Then it was Alan Rickman snd Charles Dance. Now I find I have a growing interest in TV history programmes particularly when fronted by "nice young men" such as Tristram Hunt, Dan Snow and the chap who did the Ancient Greeks but whose name I have of course forgotten !sad

NanKate Mon 16-Jun-14 08:18:29

Kitty Paul Jones looks pretty good now and he still has all his hair !!

kittylester Mon 16-Jun-14 08:34:14

I shunned up a drain pipe to get his autograph NanKate after a Manfred Mann concert!

One of my BiLs played in a Manfred Mann band - he hasn't aged as well as Paul!

NanKate Mon 16-Jun-14 08:57:20

I am sure it was worth it Kitty.

I am listening to YouTube now with 'If you've got to go, go now' one of MM's hits by Bob Dylan. Did they do Watermelon Man too, I liked that a lot. Still got their EPs on vinyl.

Fab memories aren't they ?
