Agus Fri 11-Jul-14 16:52:14

Great photo of Torben. Love the stick out tongue. Always a sign of serious concentration grin

Good luck [Alie] hope some progress is on the horizon for you.

The poems were lovely but I have to confess I knew, poets day stood for something else but could not for,the life of me remember what!

Pleased to hear you had some time to yourself today G23.

DH and I now going for a stroll. He has to do 15mins at a slow,pace......I have to do a brisk walk. We must look ridiculous as I forge on ahead then double back to join him a few times until we have done 15 mins. grin

Hey wait for me you lot. I'm still the newby. What happens when the kitchen closes? confused Where's the new extension going to be? Don't go without me I really like my fellow kitcheners sad I have a terrible sense of direction I might get lost. Someone put down a trail of crumbs for me to follow please.

baubles Fri 11-Jul-14 21:00:36

A very warm hello from Athens. I'm not able to look in all that often just now as we don't always have a good internet connection but Soop and her Kitcheners pop into my head often.

Good wishes to you all.

thatbags Fri 11-Jul-14 21:03:46

Hope you're having a swell time, baubles smile Sorry for the Americanism; it just seemed right, and they'll have got it from here originally.

AlieOxon Fri 11-Jul-14 21:40:55

Crafting don't worry the kitchen will be visible wherever!

I had a bit of a setback this evening as the dogs from No.10 (two doors along...) got in my garden, almost in the house, and I had to call the police - dare not go to their front door, as last time I got bitten.
Police went round there and are going to tell them to fix their fences!
Luckily I have good neighbours over the road and went over there while waiting - so helpful. I was very scared.

I think the dogs jumped over my hedge...two large Alsatians....I may have to think about a high fence.

I have popped in to wind down before I go to bed. I cannot post much tonight. My mouse has gone AWOL. I cannot use my laptop very well without it .

I think Granny23s cat has eaten it.
Night all!

Lona Sat 12-Jul-14 08:43:31

Alie How horrible! Hope you're feeling ok now, that must have been scary flowers

Granny23 Sat 12-Jul-14 11:17:50

Nellie that might explain the trail of wee pieces of black, plasticy, rubbery stuff that I keep finding on the floor. I must apologise to DH's zimmer which has been getting the blame grin

Two pieces of good news yesterday. First, while searching under the bed and the wardrobe to find Granpal's summer sandals, I twice came across the single, size 5 wellie that I have kept, hoping its mate would turn up. Took a while to dawn on me that I had seen it in two different boxes - et voila - I now have a pair which I will present to my neighbours for their newly walking 1yo DGS smile

The Biggie however is that after all the angst, the Specialist at re-hab had a talk with DH and told him that she had ruled out Post-Polio Sequelea (I can say it out loud now) as a diagnosis because of the improvement in mobility and muscle tone that DH has achieved over the past month or so, which would not have been possible if he had PPS. Whoopee! They now think his condition was down to trauma and enforced inactivity. And wouldn't you know it - DH has been keeping to himself (didn't want to worry me) the fact that the Physio suggested PPS as a likely cause of his problems 2 months ago and it was this that spurred him on to prove her wrong. WTF grin

Feel like a celebration but planned trip with DGC to the Famous Alva Games is currently on hold as there has been steady rain all morning which looks set to continue.

Agus Sat 12-Jul-14 11:44:14

Brilliant news G23 I am so delighted for your DH getting positive good news. There will be no holding him back now and hope you both put this episode behind you. What's a bit of rain compared to what you have both been through grin. Enjoy your weekend whether going to the Games or not.

Agus Sat 12-Jul-14 11:47:58

To quote our other Bard (Billy Connolly) grin something along the lines of, there is nothing wrong with our weather you just need to wear the right clothing!

Galen Sat 12-Jul-14 11:58:56

970 posts. Hope the new wing is almost ready?
Has Rory approved the plans?

Granny23 Sat 12-Jul-14 12:36:22

Thanks Agus flowers

A question for Soop - If you have a damn near perfect cat, who do you blame for all the things that go wrong or are mislaid in the house? We could not function as an amicable family unit without our scapecat grin

AlieOxon Sat 12-Jul-14 12:51:08

Thanks Lona!

Crafting Sat 12-Jul-14 13:56:11

Good news granny23. So you were both keeping it quiet so as not to worry each other. What a relief for you both.
AliOxon hope you are feeling better today flowers What a scary thing to happen.

thatbags Sat 12-Jul-14 14:39:59
