To lift the mood I've brought some chilled bubbly and my (virtual) birthday cake to share with all the 'kitcheners'!

I'm sure soop will let us know if anything changes nellie. Fingers crossed that the slight improvement she mentioned at lunchtime has continued.

I have just looked in to see how Mr MacSporran might be. No posts since ten past two this afternoon. I don't like this lack of news.

Have only just caught up - love and positive vibes and and to bella and soops. Such difficult times for you all.

I'm keeping away from the pollen. If I go outside, I wheeze and snuffle and my eyes get puffy. What a waste of a lovely sunny day. Maybe I need to buy a supply of masks. That would amuse the neighbours!

soop I do hope he's on the mend. I'm sitting in my (tiny but pretty) garden thinking of you both and of Bella too. I can hear a thousand bees, frogs plopping in and out of my pond, the newly fledged blackbirds crashing around in the bushes - and above it all, through the open bedroom window, my littlest grandson snoring his precious little head off in his cot.

Not really...... I just get wobbly,, and wish I could have quicker response from GP, I do sometimes doubt their competence.

However we are in in sunny greece on an island we have been to before perhaps 6 times, Astypalea, and its full of steps,there are less steep routes around, and I use these. Use a stick not to wobble.

It a bit like the west coast with strong sun, and no midges, the views fromKintyre must be magic at times.

I remember an exhibition of pictures taken by Lady Mclean of sunsets from Duart castle, a wee bit north from you and they were stunning, mind you so could the rain clouds over Mull.

I used to cycle to school and go home for lunch, it was a 2 raincoat job, one on and one on the aga drying for next day.

Whew! soop, cautious welcome for your latest bulletin. I do hope that this improvement continues. Perhaps the latest anti-b is the one that was needed. Love to you both x x x

That's good to hear, soop. It's awful wondering what is making your loved ones poorly and waiting to see an improvement.

The stabbing pains came and went overnight. When the doctor called, they had passed. He hasn't experienced anything like all morning. He is eating a light lunch... a much better sign, as his appetite has been non existent for a few days. I PROMISE to take him to A&E if he mentions the pains again. I've asked him to PLEASE inform me of any changes. He assures me that he will do what I/we suggest. He understands why it is that we are concerned.

jollyg I Googled your complaint. Poor you, it must be a very distressing condition.

soop Get him to a hospital this seems to be to much for GPs to deal with I would be tempted to call an ambulance in these circumstances.

Enough is enough. It's gone on far too long and he is not getting better.

Perhaps not ringing the GP again first.

I know that is a desperate measure but it will make sure he is in the safest place in a crisis.

I get the impression you you are quite a way from a hospital. Please take this step.. he anxiety and stress of all this is not going to help either of you.

soop, those stabbing pains sound really ominous. Did you tell the doctor about this development when she rang?

granjura I could not agree more. MacS needs to be hospitalised because he needs IV antibiotics now.

I am so sorry that I live so far away because as I said earlier MacS should be dragged to the car screaming and kicking and I would do it.

I am sorry for insisting- but possible consequences are too serious not to.
Insist for another home visit- explain about severe head aches- and say you suspect generalised scepticimia- it has gone on for a week- and YOU ARE REALLY SERIOUSLY CONCERNED- AND ASK IF HE SHOULD NOT BE ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL.

If he has stabbing pains in the head and still unwell- he really should be admitted REALLY. The consequences of general scepticimia at just not worth thinking about, please honest.
