Do you hate complaining about purchases?

I always used to send my daughter to return things. She got a lot of practice when the Halifax lost her the flat she was buying and the branch manager took to hiding when she went in to see him, but she's got even better since then She has a dominant personality, which I'm afraid she doesn't get from me.

If things aren"t as you wish, you should complain, otherwise how do they know if things are not right !

IMO basically you are doing them a favour !

We should all complain about faulty goods, or anythingthat we are not happy with.I am always polite, but if I don't like the response, I ask to see the manager.Most Brits are not good at complaining [somebody may LOOK!]In the end, if enough people complain then something is done about the product.It's as well to know your 'rights' though.If the product is really faulty and you don't want another [maybe also faulty] ask if you can have your money back, most shops will say yes.If it's not faulty but you change your mind about wanting it, then it's up to the shop and it's policy. Most shops will allow you to choose other goods to the same amount, but some may flatly refuse [and it's their right to do this.]If the shop puts the price wrongly [in the window] then it is NOT your right to pay this price for it.A lot of people think it is.The shop is not legally obliged to sell you anything, if it doesn't want to.

The only time I find it problematic is if someone else is paying for a nice meal and the meal is not nice. That has happened to me a couple of times in the last year or so. One in a brasserie blanc - horrible fish dish

I won't do it if it's a little hardworking concern. Would rather take the loss.

Bought some paint, it turned out to be nothing like the colour on the colour chart. I emailed the shop and they replied saying bring it back with the receipt. We will send it away to be tested and if no fault is found there is nothing we can do.
Why does it need testing? The colour is supposed to be dark brown and it looks more like purple. They would wriggle out of a refund by telling I should have bought one of those little sample pots. At £1.50 each, I don't think so!
Anyone want yo buy half a tin of purple paint, called 'cocoa' ??

Last night I paid £2 for a packet of crisps weighing 25g, they were supposed to be beetroot kale. When I opened the bag there were a few sticky lumps in the bottom, mostly leaf stalks with some red powder. I tipped the contents on to a sheet of paper and photographed them with the opened bag and posted them on the shop facebook page. The contents were totally inedible and resembled something I would find in my garden waste bin.

I don't have a problem with it.

I think if you approach the problem with respect for the person you are talking to then the problem is solved amicably.

Go at it with all guns firing and you deserve what you get.

Just got back and I got my money back on the pastels quite easily....she opened another box and they were the same....not good.

There isn't anything else like these online - except on Ebay, where the exact same thing is being sold for £2 more! So I am still annoyed.

I will complain if I'm sold short on goods and services. If you are complaining, it pays to swot up on The Sale of Goods and Services Act 1982.

If I have a genuine complaint then I make it, because I think that unless someone complains about shoddy work/goods, then possibly no one is aware of this. When we were in business we were always concerned that what we had provided was what the customer wanted and was satisfied, if they were not, we preferred to know, rather than have them go somewhere else and possibly give us a bad name. The old saying should be displayed in all shops "If you like what we provided, please tell your friends, if you were unhappy with our service, please tell us'.

My son's a trading standards officer. If I don't do it, he will.

No... I just go in to the shop and tell the truth about the product as I see it. Usually works.

Come to think of it, I don't even think of it as complaining!

I'm not a good complainer but I have an OH who relishes a good moan/complain so I tend to send him to do the dirty work... he usually gets a good result , with his polite but firm policy.

If I've paid good money for either goods or services I expect it to be 100%. If not I complain.

Not me, I'm one of those who if not satisfied then seller/workman whoever better be ware !
