As you seem to have enjoyed the Limerick thread and produced some great ones, I thought it would be time for something a bit different which I found on www.kathimitchell.com/poemtypes.html which is full of good ideas. I thought we would start with this type and then move onto something harder.
ALPHABET: Each line begins with the letters of the alphabet in order.
An example - A young girl was busy working on her project for school But suddenly she had a question. Could this be her lucky day? Deciding to find out, she Entered her backyard and Found hundreds of green shamrocks waiting for her.
With which Duffy built a fire, lit it by rubbing two twigs together, and went off to hunt for dinner while Sir Galahad sulked about having got his hair wet...
Very nearly but with the help of Duffy the cat who has miraculously managed to reach the shore too, they both walk off into the dunes looking for firewood.
Zebadiah! Fetch me a clean truss and tell the crew to prepare for Chapter 2 of this maritime saga. Now go and prepare my morning bath under that palm tree, after which I will address the crew. Off you go!
