(Are these last ones limericks ? They sound more like pomes to me. You can only stretch the rhythms so far! Say the out loud and I think you'll agree)

Apologies to NanKate, but I would make that first line

"All our wishes and hopes to Mo Farrah"

All our hopes and wishes are with Mo Farrah.

This is line one not just a statement.

But Papa let's hope that you're wrong

I don't think I'll be winning a gong!

Which are what you get
When you over-indulges

That Lycra stretched it showed my bulges.

My lycra and trainers I did don

Whilst gearing up for the marathon.

And I threw it away with a squawk!

So the rose I did flick

I felt a prick

Twirling a rose by the stalk,

Teetering on the edge were we! Better clean the act up then ...

Whilst out in the park for a walk

But I think she's a total muppet.

I chickened out too Galen.

Ah! Go on! Galen Go on! were are all grown up enough to be childish if needed.
