Are you superstitious ?

We always say 'Good morning Mr Magpie, how are your wife and children' but, when the children were little, any bad luck that was potentially caused by seeing a lone magpie could be cancelled by seeing a heron! Luckily we crossed two rivers on the way to school so I could generally guarantee a 'good luck' day!

All vain attempts to control the world you live in, by 'supernatural' means!
When asked (which happens rarely) if I am a religious believer, I always answer that I am not superstitious... seems to cover it...

Magpies - one is unlucky, by the time you get to the magic number 7, all will be well for that day. I wonder if we're the last generation steeped in superstition, as a result of our parents and grandparents. I realise, I would stop my children walking under ladders - but I'd dress it up in elf n safety (someone may drop a paint pot for example)

One of my aunts was very superstitious and had all sorts of "beliefs" that I have never heard of elsewhere. Itchy elbows, for example, presaged sleeping in a strange bed. She also had a fund of not-quite-correct sayings, such as "Don't look a gift horse up the nose."

Silverfish.

Blow, now I think of it, I do say "Good morning Captain, how's your family" when I see a Magpie because a friend told me it was good luck!

Ruddy hell I am superstitious.

Think I have mentioned this before, I borrowed a special scarf of my daughter's when I went for the results of my first scan. That was almost 3 years ago. I still have it - I think that if I give it her back I won't be lucky next scan.

Crossed knives and forks send me batty.

When I see a magpie, I say'good morning mr magpie, hows mrs magpie'.
After saying that you are supposed to spit on the cat but I have 3 gorgeous cats and would not spit on any of them

Not me but I do cross my fingers when walking under a ladder and the first thing I say on the first day of the month is 'White Rabbits'

I am getting work done on the gutters at the moment so there are various ladders leaning up against the house. I had called in a tree surgeon to cut back a holly tree that is brushing the side of the house (and getting in the way of gutter work). I was quite happy to walk under a ladder to show him the tree - he carefully moved it out of his path. "I am about to go up a tree with a chainsaw. I don't need any bad luck", he said.

Not superstitious but wobble at the thought of new shoes on a table or putting an umbrella over my head indoors...not sure why either of these are no-no's - does anyone? And I think twice about changing clothes that I've put on inside out but vanity wins out! Lol!

I always say I am not superstitious but I am forever 'knocking on wood'. I think it's more of a habit than I think of bad luck.

Oh dear. I have just thought I do say 'cross your finger's' a lot. Blow it, now I just don't know.

I am not at all superstitious just won't let anyone leave a pair of shoes on the table, or walk under a ladder, or walk past someone on the stairs or ......
