Soop's in her kitchen, all's right with the world.

annodomini Tue 06-May-14 18:05:26

soop, I so sympathise with you - I used to have UTIs time and again. Are you having lots to drink? I don't mean single malt!

I've been up to Rochdale (foreign parts!) to take my DGD for a job interview. She was pretty pleased with how it went, but won't know until next week if she has to go for the second stage. I'm so sleepy now you'd think I'd driven all day!

Agus Tue 06-May-14 18:00:32

Bella, I know you are understandably anxious with you darling DH's situation just now but, really, you must look after yourself too. Possibly a change of tablet or half the dosage of what you had been taking could be all that is necessary to help you cope with your feelings of anxiety. I can be a real bossy boots sometimes Bella but we don't want you becoming unwell when there may well be a solution. flowers

Pleased to hear your BiL is making some progress dusty

Hope all goes well, with your procedure tomorrow Charley

It would have to be rhubarb and blueberries bags I can't resist either of them so,please don't let on to the others that I have taken a huge slice. Mmmm, devine!

Bellasnana Tue 06-May-14 17:14:15

soop I'm sorry your infection isn't clear yet. Hopefully the second lot of antibiotics will sort it out.

dustyangel sounds like your BiL has made slow progress. Hope he will improve as the days go on.

Agus no wonder you have cabin-fever after being cooped up for 8 weeks. Just as well you can escape to soops kitchen to break the monotony smile

Am not taking my pills any more. Would rather be anxious than zombie-fied!
Plus I need to be able to drive my darling H after his upcoming laparoscopy, so need my wits about me.

My mouth is positively slobbering at the thought of bags's blueberry and rhubarb slices. Rhubarb is one of my all time favorites and is rarely found locally. Yum. I am sticking around and virtually enjoying every morsel grin

flowers and sunshine to you all.

Charleygirl Tue 06-May-14 17:03:34

It is not often that I have had to wash a plant in its pot but Tara has been looking under the weather yesterday and today and has also developed a limp. She was sunning herself on the window sill when she was sick into a plant pot, missing the curtain by inches.

I hope that she is okay tomorrow because I am going to have a bone biopsy done under CT control to try and find out why I can only walk 100 yards before I develop pain around my knee replacement. A lot of us are in the wars, one way or another.

The weather is glorious here today and I scoffed the last mini Magnum while watching the clothes dry. I had just returned from the dentist, thankfully nothing needed to be done. I am hoping that my teeth will outlive me. flowers and wine to all.

Nelliemoser Tue 06-May-14 16:44:07

Oh Soop Have you not been looking after yourself? Good wishes coming your way. Take care flowers (((hug)))

dustyangel Tue 06-May-14 16:30:08

Lona grin

soop I'm sorry to hear that you're on another course of antibiotics. I hope they do the trick. Here is some virtual natural yoghurt to settle your digestion. And a (((hug))) as well.

Bellasnana I'm seeing my GP next week to discuss the side effects of a tablet I've been on for the last 3 months. I know they make me feel a bit detached from things BUT I'm not in anything like as much pain and I'm sleeping a lot better. I'm on the lowest dose there is.

My BIL came out of hospital just before the weekend. He couldn't do anything for himself and it has been very difficult for his son. He has improved a bit now, can get himself up from a chair and recognised DH today. Hopefully the improvement will continue. He is also still on antibiotics. One place where he knocked his foot is still very bad and not responding to treatment.

Agus Tue 06-May-14 16:01:04

Sorry to hear you are needing more antibiotics soop. Fingers crossed this course clears things up.

Not much chance of doing anything yet until I no longer need the brace. I am due another scan which will determine if I can dispose with the brace or continue wearing it for another 4 weeks. Haven't been out for 8 weeks now and getting a wee bit stir crazy. Mustn't grumble though, making good progress.

Lona Tue 06-May-14 14:29:38

I know.....bags's bags' ?? grin I give up!!!

Lona Tue 06-May-14 14:27:18

soop I'm sorry too that you have to take even more antibiotics. You clearly aren't eating enough of bags's flapjacks!
Sending you some very fragile Wisteria blossoms to put near your chair flowers and some sunshine xxx

thatbags Tue 06-May-14 14:11:56

Good wishes to everyone else who is feeling fragile too flowers and cupcake (actually blueberry and rhubarb slices).

thatbags Tue 06-May-14 14:09:16

Oh dear, soop. I'm sorry to hear about your bloody wee, if you'll excuse the expression! I do hope the next batch of anti-biotics does the trick flowers

soop Tue 06-May-14 13:21:16

Good afternoon to my Granspals. The sky is clearing and the sun is shining and the birds are tweeting. Rory is dozing.

Bella your medication certainly shouldn't zap you of so much energy. I trust that you won't be operating machinery or driving the car. I agree with Lona and Agus, take yourself back to the doctor and get matters sorted ASAP. I like the title soop's kitcheners. Perhaps when we open the extension to the extension we should name it thus.

baubles I'm glad that your day went wonderfully well. Such simple treats are precious. What's more, the builder kept his word. smile

Agus I'm pleased to hear that you are beginning to heal. What a to-do! Don't overdo things...the dust will wait until another day. wink

DebnCreme... you are very funny. The dentist may be working on your looth tooth even as I type.

kitty We had hoped to sit outside and eat Magnum ice cream yesterday afternoon. However, the weather was far from suitable...and [a minor blip] we had forgotten to replace the Magnums that *MacSporran* we scoffed over Easter. hmm

Charleygirl, I would so love thick hair. Mine appears thick but is far from it. It is wispy-fine, prone to comb-breaking tangles and far too much comes out when I brush it.

Lona I have a passion for wisteria. The heady perfume when you step outside your door, must be something special. Lucky you. We tried to grow some here in Kintyre. The salt-laden air was not to it's liking.
I had to return to the GP because the result of wee sample that went to the lab was not to his liking. I then did yet another wee wee and blood was found in it. So...I've to take a further course of antibiotics. Hey ho! As bags would say.

Agus Tue 06-May-14 10:17:43

Bella just thinking about the effect of your meds. As Lona suggests! a lower dosage or a word with your GP to find a more suitable dosage/change of tablet. Hope you find something that works for you flowers

Lona Mon 05-May-14 23:05:34

Bella flowers That doesn't sound too good. Perhaps a lower dose would be better?

Agus Mon 05-May-14 22:12:24

I'm making good progress thanks Bella.

Sleep well moon

Bellasnana Mon 05-May-14 20:58:09

I'm not sure I'm fit to go out Agus I'm either dozing off or stumbling into things! Was on Skype earlier with DGD and she said 'Nana, why are your eyes closed? ' Don't think I shall last long on these pills somehow smile

How are your injuries Agus? Do hope you are recovering from your scary accident.

I'm off to bed now - might as well be there as falling asleep on the sofa!
Night night all moon

Agus Mon 05-May-14 20:44:27

I know it's not a laughing matter Bella and I hope they help you feel less anxious but I just had a vision of you on your meds and me on morphine, what an interesting day we could have out together grin

Bellasnana Mon 05-May-14 15:56:35

Good afternoon to all fellow soop's kitcheners . I heard scones mentioned?! Yes please, if there are any left. Excuse me if I flop down in the background, but the doctor has put me on some tablets to help with anxiety and I feel like a zombie.

DebnCreme your 'lithp' reminds me of DGD. We Skype daily and she has all her 'printhethess' lined up ready for Nana to 'betend' to be the Prince! Bless her.

I had to laugh at kitty's care home story too. Reminds me of when my Mum was in one for a while. The phone kept ringing and I asked her why no-one answered the darned thing. She laughed and said "It's not the phone, it's the parrot"! Sure enough, the resident parrot had learned how to mimic the phonegrin

DebnCreme Mon 05-May-14 14:13:53

Lona grin. i thuppoth - oh blow, I can't keep that going any longer smile - i reckon as they are virtual I could manage a little one (or six) they smell delicious but thanks for the kind offer baubles

baubles Mon 05-May-14 14:08:11

Aww Deb would you like me to liquidise one for you?

baubles Mon 05-May-14 14:06:53

I'll lurk with you Kitty grin

DD asked this morning if I'd like to meet up with them for a while this morning. Lovely surprise as it's a bank holiday SIL is off and I didn't expect to be asked to join in with their family time. Had a smashing couple of hours at the park with my granddaughters and have come home to find the decorator hard at work smile

Lona Mon 05-May-14 14:06:40

Deb grin and flowers
Don't sulk, just give us a cheesy grin!

DebnCreme Mon 05-May-14 14:05:06

kittylester Mon 05-May-14 13:54:45

Coo! It's a bit 'daft' out there so I've popped in for a brew and some scones if there are any left.

DH has blasted the patios and I've weed killered them and washed the table and benches. All we need now is sunshine which we haven't got. sad

I'll just lurk in the corner over there, if it's ok with everyone.

Lona Mon 05-May-14 12:28:03

I've just enjoyed a cup of coffee too, and now I must drag myself upstairs to clean the bathroom shock
It's not warm enough to sit outside, which is a shame as the wisteria is flowering around my back door and the perfume is wonderful.
Maybe later......

soop I hope you're feeling 100% now and enjoying the last of the bank holiday sunshine xx
